Runge–Kutta–Nyström Pairs of Orders 8(6) for Use in Quadruple Precision Computations

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The second-order system of non-stiff Initial Value Problems (IVP) is considered and, in particular, the case where the first derivatives are absent.

On the initial value problem of a periodic box-ball system

open access: yes, 2006
We show that the initial value problem of a periodic box-ball system can be solved in an elementary way using simple combinatorial methods.Comment: 9 pages, 2 ...

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Using Semi-Analytic Method to Decreasing Dangers of Lead

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2016
The aim of this paper is to present a method for solving of system of first order initial value problems of ordinary differential equation by a semi-analytic technique with constructing polynomial solutions for decreasing dangers of lead.

Note on a discrete initial value problem from a competition

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
The following discrete initial value problem x n + 1 = x n ( x n − 1 2 − 2 ) − x 1 , n ∈ N , $$ x_{n+1}=x_{n}\bigl(x_{n-1}^{2}-2 \bigr)-x_{1},\quad n\in {\mathbb{N}}, $$ x 0 = 2 $x_{0}=2$ and x 1 = 5 / 2 $x_{1}=5/2$ , appeared at an international ...

Numerical solutions of the initial value problem for fractional differential equations by modification of the Adomian decomposition method

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we extend a reliable modification of the Adomian decomposition method presented in [34] for solving initial value problem for fractional differential equations. In order to confirm the applicability and the advantages of our approach, we ...

Characterizing epithelial‐mesenchymal transition‐linked heterogeneity in breast cancer circulating tumor cells at a single‐cell level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In over 50% of non‐metastatic breast cancer patients, circulating tumor cells (CTCs) along the whole epithelial‐mesenchymal transition spectrum are detected. Total CTC number and individual phenotypes relate to aggressive disease characteristics, including lymph node involvement and higher tumor proliferation. At the single‐cell level, mesenchymal CTCs

The initial value problem for ordinary differential equations with infinitely many derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We study existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions for ordinary differential equations with infinitely many derivatives such as (linearized versions of) nonlocal field equations of motion appearing in particle physics, nonlocal cosmology and ...

The IFNγ‐CIITA‐MHC II axis modulates melanoma cell susceptibility to NK‐cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Natural killer (NK) cells play a central role in anti‐melanoma immunity. However, melanoma cells adapt during co‐culture by upregulating CIITA and MHC II in response to interferon gamma (IFNγ), thereby evading NK‐cell lysis. Blocking IFNγ signaling or treatment with dimethyl fumarate/simvastatin counteracts this immune escape and maintains NK‐cell ...

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.
