Shape of Water: Power Dynamics for Supply Chain Resilience

open access: yesJournal of Supply Chain Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The world is facing climate change‐driven disruptions such as extreme weather events, which affect nature as well as firms and their supply chains. Nonetheless, little is known about how supply chain players shape their socioecological resilience, including from a power perspective.

Genetic, phenotypic, and ecological differentiation indicate a new cryptic and threatened species in the orchid genus Epidendrum from Alcatrazes Island, southeastern Brazil

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
Epidendrum insularis occurs on the remote Alcatrazes Island in the southeastern Brazilian coast. The description of this new cryptic species was only possible by the joint use of molecular markers, reproductive experiments, flower morphometry, functional traits, and community analysis.

Analysis of the front carrier stability considering real-time offset of the spreader [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Frontal carrier is often used to stack and transfer containers at freight terminals or inland transfer stations, and the requirement of its security is increasing.

California's vernal‐pool mousetails (Myosurus, Ranunculaceae): Phylogenetic analysis of ddRADseq data, hybridization tests, and species delimitation

open access: yesJournal of Systematics and Evolution, EarlyView.
We present the first phylogenetic analysis of the Californian species of Myosurus. Our ddRADseq analysis reveals considerably more diversity than what was recognized in recent floristic treatments. Myosurus minimus subsp. apus was found to be a rare species restricted to Southern California and northwestern Baja California.

Fish assemblage at a newly restored tidal wetland reflects surrounding waterways in the Sacramento‐San Joaquin Delta

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction We studied the response of fish assemblages, water quality, and plankton following the completion of 700 acres of a 1184‐acre tidal restoration project (Dutch Slough Tidal Restoration; DSTR) in a system degraded by water diversions, channelization, non‐native species, and wetland loss.

A reproducible Monte Carlo simulation of an inland railway container terminal under stochastic arrival and finite yard capacity constraints

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Global containerization has become the backbone of international supply chains, and container terminals continue to face difficulties caused by random and irregular cargo flows.

Climate Shocks and Unemployment Claims

open access: yesScottish Journal of Political Economy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using a US state–level climate risk measure and the panel local projections framework, this study analyzes both linear and asymmetric effects of climate shocks on unemployment claims. The results provide strong evidence that climate shocks significantly increase both initial and continuing claims, with the linear estimates showing a stronger ...

Two mathematical formulations for the containers drayage problem with time windows [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Business Science and Applied Management, 2012
The containers drayage problem studied here arise in ISO container distribution and collecting processes, in regions which are oriented to container sea ports or inland terminals.

The Impact of Russia–Ukraine War in Maritime Data

open access: yesThe World Economy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study analyses weekly port calls from 2019 to 2026 to evaluate the Russia–Ukraine war's impact on maritime trade. The data reveals clear structural shifts that Ukrainian traffic moved from high‐risk areas like Odesa to safer Danube River ports.
