THE FACADE’S DOME OF THE ST. ANTHONY’S BASILICA IN PADUA [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
The basilica of St. Anthony in Padua (13th–14th cent.) is one of the most remarkable pilgrimage sites in Italy. To date, the monument itself has never been subject to a comprehensive stratigraphic analysis.

Common recognition topology of mex transporters of Pseudomonas aeruginosa revealed by molecular modelling

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2022
The secondary transporters of the resistance-nodulation-cell division (RND) superfamily mediate multidrug resistance in Gram-negative bacteria like Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

LatticeMech: A discrete mechanics code to compute the effective static properties of 2D metamaterial structures

open access: yesSoftwareX, 2020
In the current work, we provide a Bernoulli beam-mechanics based code for the computation of the effective static properties of two-dimensional, metamaterial lattice structures.

Drug export pathway of multidrug exporter AcrB revealed by DARPin inhibitors.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2007
The multidrug exporter AcrB is the inner membrane component of the AcrAB-TolC drug efflux system in Escherichia coli and is responsible for the resistance of this organism to a wide range of drugs.

Decoupling Hybrid Metal Walls and Half-Wavelength Diagonal Open-Slots Based Four-Port Square Patch Antenna With High Port Isolation and Low Radiation Correlation for 2.4/5/6 GHz WiFi-6E 4 × 4 MIMO Access Points

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Based on applying the hybrid metal walls and half-wavelength diagonal open-slots, a four-port square patch antenna (SPA) having high port isolation (>20 dB) and low radiation correlation (envelope correlation coefficients < 0.01) for 2.4/5 ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Challenges and opportunities for implementation of substance misuse interventions in conflict-affected populations

open access: yesHarm Reduction Journal, 2018
Alcohol and other drug misuse are significant but neglected public health issues in conflict-affected populations. In this article, we review the literature on the challenges and strategies for implementing substance misuse treatment and prevention ...

Crystal structure of the ATPase domain of the human AAA+ protein paraplegin/SPG7. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2009
Paraplegin is an m-AAA protease of the mitochondrial inner membrane that is linked to hereditary spastic paraplegias. The gene encodes an FtsH-homology protease domain in tandem with an AAA+ homology ATPase domain.

WIKIBrainStem: An online atlas to manually segment the human brainstem at the mesoscopic scale from ultrahigh field MRI

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2021
The brainstem is one of the most densely packed areas of the central nervous system in terms of gray, but also white, matter structures and, therefore, is a highly functional hub.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.
