Lithium‐Charged Gold Nanoparticles: A New Powerful Tool for Lithium Delivery and Modulation of Glycogen Synthase Kinase 3 Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 3, 13 January 2026.
This study introduces glutathione‐stabilized gold nanoparticles for targeted lithium delivery (LiG‐AuNPs), enabling the controlled modulation of Glycogen Synthase Kinase‐3 (GSK‐3β). These non‐toxic, 2‐nm particles release lithium intracellularly, effectively inhibiting GSK‐3β in the brain without significant plasma lithium alterations.

Exploring Autophagy Inducing Molecules: Targeting Diverse Pathways in Alzheimer's Disease Management

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 1, Page 272-298, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease (AD), impose a significant burden on society due to their progressive nature and the associated healthcare costs. Autophagy, a vital cellular degradation process, has emerged as a promising therapeutic target in these disorders.

Effects of Corn Fermented Protein as a Primary Protein Source on Growth Performance, Feed Utilization Efficiency, Hemolymph Biochemical Parameters, and Physiological and Digestive Gene Expression of Pacific White Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

open access: yesAquaculture Nutrition, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study aimed to determine the effect of replacing fish meal (FM), soybean meal (SBM), and corn protein concentrate (CPC) in an equal ratio with corn fermented protein (CFP) on Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei growth, feed utilization efficiency, hemolymph parameters, and physiological gene expression.

Inositol Polyphosphate 5-Phosphatases 1 and 2 Are Required for Regulating Seedling Growth

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 2007
Abstract Signals can be perceived and amplified at the cell membrane by receptors coupled to the production of a variety of second messengers, including myoinositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate [Ins(1,4,5)P3]. The myoinositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatases (5PTases; EC 3.1.3.56) comprise a large protein family that hydrolyzes 5-phosphates from a ...

Nortriptyline Inhibits Lysosomal Exocytosis‐Mediated SASP During Gastric Cancer Progression via Targeting HOXA1‐PITX2 Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 46, December 11, 2025.
This study identifies that HOXA1 facilitates transcriptional activity of PITX2 in liquid condensates, resulting in up‐regulation of MCOLN1 and RAB3A followed by lysosomal exocytosis of LGALS1 and IGFBP7 from senescent cells, thus activating AKT signaling and EMT.

Specificity determinants in phosphoinositide dephosphorylation: crystal structure of an archetypal inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase.

open access: yesCell, 2001
Inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatases are central to intracellular processes ranging from membrane trafficking to Ca(2+) signaling, and defects in this activity result in the human disease Lowe syndrome. The 1.8 resolution structure of the inositol polyphosphate 5-phosphatase domain of SPsynaptojanin bound to Ca(2+) and inositol (1,4)-bisphosphate ...
