Scene-agnostic visual inpainting remains very challenging despite progress in patch-based methods. Recently, Pathak et al. 2016 have introduced convolutional "context encoders" (CEs) for unsupervised feature learning through image completion tasks.

Zoom-to-Inpaint: Image Inpainting with High-Frequency Details
Although deep learning has enabled a huge leap forward in image inpainting, current methods are often unable to synthesize realistic high-frequency details. In this paper, we propose applying super-resolution to coarsely reconstructed outputs, refining them at high resolution, and then downscaling the output to the original resolution.

Inpainting, the technique of modifying an image in an undetectable form, is as ancient as art itself. The goals and applications of inpainting are numerous, from the restoration of damaged paintings and photographs to the removal/replacement of selected objects.

Privacy-preserving inpainting for outsourced image
In this article, a framework of privacy-preserving inpainting for outsourced image and an encrypted-image inpainting scheme are proposed. Different with conventional image inpainting in plaintext domain, there are two entities, that is, content owner and

We propose diffusion-shock (DS) inpainting as a hitherto unexplored integrodifferential equation for filling in missing structures in images. It combines two carefully chosen components that have proven their usefulness in different applications: homogeneous diffusion inpainting and coherence-enhancing shock filtering.

Image Inpainting Algorithm Based on Sparse Representation Distinguishing Structure and Texture [PDF]
Existing image inpainting algorithms based on sparse representation do not distinguish structure patch and texture patch when constructing the learning dictionary. This may increase the processing time when inpainting the smooth part of the damaged region,

An Automatic Image Inpainting Algorithm Based on FCM
There are many existing image inpainting algorithms in which the repaired area should be manually determined by users. Aiming at this drawback of the traditional image inpainting algorithms, this paper proposes an automatic image inpainting algorithm ...

Facial inpainting or face restoration is a process to reconstruct some missing region on face images such that the inpainting results still can be seen as a realistic and original image without any missing region, in such a way that the observer could ...
