Analysis of the Input Current-Ripple in the Series-Capacitor Boost Converter

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2021
This letter presents an analysis along with a design method and pulsewidth modulation operation for the series-capacitor boost converter, which reduces the input current ripple without increasing the stored energy in inductors, that is, without increasing their physical size.

A bridge-free SEPIC for ripple reduction of input current

2021 International Conference on Design Innovations for 3Cs Compute Communicate Control (ICDI3C), 2021
A conventional single ended primary inductor converter, in a word, a SEPIC has a drawback that there are heavy conduction losses at the input bridge diode. This leaves scope for further research on such converters to reduce such losses and thereby increase the efficiency of a SEPIC converter.

Input Ripple Current Characteristics of Aviation Static Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013
As a typical load of an aircraft power system, the aviation static inverter (ASI) brings about undesirable low-frequency ripple current on the aeronautic dc bus, which seriously deteriorates the power quality of aeronautic grid. Based on the double-Fourier switching function method, the input current of the inverter unit is analyzed.

Input current ripple analysis of nine-phase PWM inverters

IECON 2011 - 37th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2011
An input current-ripple analysis of nine-phase pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) Inverter is presented in this paper. The current-ripple is analyzed using frequency domain approach. Two configuration of nine-phase inverter (nine-phase split 20° and split 40) are analyzed.

Input-Current-Ripple-Free Two-Channel LED Driver

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2017
In this paper, an input-current-ripple-free two-channel light-emitting diode (LED) driver is presented. In the proposed LED driver, a current-sharing capacitor is integrated into the boost converter to achieve the current-sharing among the LEDs and to enhance the output voltage gain. Moreover, an input current ripple cancellation circuit is employed to

Multi-input DC/DC converter with ripple-free input currents

2002 IEEE 33rd Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference. Proceedings (Cat. No.02CH37289), 2003
A multi-input DC/DC power converter with ripple-free input currents is proposed in this paper. In order to reduce the cost and size of the input inductors and achieve the electromagnetic interference (EMI) suppression, the coupled inductor technique is employed to obtain ripple-free input currents.

Bridgeless SEPIC Converter With a Ripple-Free Input Current

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2013
Conventional power factor correction (PFC) single-ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC) suffers from high conduction loss at the input bridge diode. To solve this problem, a bridgeless SEPIC converter with ripple-free input current is proposed. In the proposed converter, the input bridge diode is removed and the conduction loss is reduced.

The effect of input current ripple on the photovoltaic panel efficiency

2013 IEEE Conference on Clean Energy and Technology (CEAT), 2013
This paper presents the effect of the input current ripple on the photovoltaic source efficiency. The input and output current can be either continuous or discrete, with or without ripple, giving either continuous or discrete energy flow hence affecting the input source efficiency or the output load application.
