The Space Environment and Atmospheric Joule Heating of the Habitable Zone Exoplanet TOI700-d

open access: yes, 2020
We investigate the space environment conditions near the Earth-size planet TOI~700~d using a set of numerical models for the stellar corona and wind, the planetary magnetosphere, and the planetary ionosphere.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Cost of “Ideal Minimum Integrated Care” for Type 2 Diabetes and Hypertension Patients in Cambodia Context: Provider Perspective

open access: yesInternational Journal of Integrated Care
Introduction: As in other countries worldwide, Diabetes mellitus type 2 (T2D) and hypertension (HTN) prevalence is increasing in Cambodia. The country is examining models to scale-up integrated T2D and HTN care.

Bidirectional Seismic Energy Input to an Isotropic Nonlinear One-Mass Two-Degree-of-Freedom System

open access: yesBuildings, 2021
The test results obtained for reinforced concrete columns by several studies have revealed that the peak displacement and cumulative hysteresis energy are important parameters for evaluating the damage of columns under horizontal bidirectional and ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Impact of FIFRELIN input parameters on fission observables

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
Evaluated nuclear data are essential for nuclear reactor studies. In order to significantly improve the precision of nuclear data, more and more fundamental fission models are used in the evaluation processing. Therefore, tests of fission models become a

Analysis of microlayer defects of a functionally graded titanium alloy by electrical discharge machining

open access: yesEngineering and Applied Science Research, 2018
This paper reports on the surface characteristics of a functionally graded Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) alloy during Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM). The electrical discharge input parameters employed for this work are current (I), on-time (Ton), off-time ...

On the Input-Degradedness and Input-Equivalence Between Channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A channel $W$ is said to be input-degraded from another channel $W'$ if $W$ can be simulated from $W'$ by randomization at the input. We provide a necessary and sufficient condition for a channel to be input-degraded from another one.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Mathematical model of heat pump [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper different energy states of a heat pump are described. Equations used for mathematical description of the heat pump in the Matlab Simulink are presented.
