Shrimp Virus Regulates ROS Dynamics via the Nrf2 Pathway to Facilitate Viral Replication
Advanced Science, EarlyView.Viruses manipulate host ROS as a strategy to achieve successful infection. WSSV exploits Nrf2 pathway to maintain ROS homeostasis and establishes a positive feedback loop to facilitate WSSV replication. Wsv220 competitively binds to Keap1 to activate Nrf2. Nrf2 up‐regulates LvG6PDH to produce more NADPH and GSH to eliminate excessive ROS.

How forest insect outbreaks depend on forest size and tree distribution: an individual-based model results [PDF]
arXivIn this work, an individual-based model of forest insect outbreaks is presented. The results obtained show that the outbreak is an emerging feature of the system. It is a common product of the characteristics of insects, the environment in which the insects live, and the way insects behave in it. The outbreak dynamics is an effect of scale.
