Two Metschnikowia nectar yeast species have similar volatile profiles but elicit differential foraging in bee pollinators

Metschnikowia reukaufii and Metschnikowia koreensis were the most prevalent nectar yeasts found in our field sites. Inducible tomato defences persist in detached leaves, despite differential plant variety and gene‐dependent expression

Short‐ and long‐term expression of PPO‐D, PI‐IIc and PR‐1a were assessed in intact plants and detached tomato leaves of two varieties infested with Tetranhycus urticae. Tomato defences were induced in both intact and detached leaves, but the induction levels varied with plant variety and gene assessed.

Transcriptional responses of Aedes aegypti chemosensory tissues in response to volatile DEET and citronella oil

Aedes aegypti females were significantly repelled by both volatile DEET and citronella oil in comparison to control (ethanol‐exposed) mosquitoes. Global gene expression changes were largest in the mosquito mouthparts, with notable downregulation of the three subunits comprising the mosquito CO2 receptor (Gr1, 2 and 3).
