Subchronic Exposure to Aripiprazole Subtly Impacts on Rodents' Sperm Quality and Fertility

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 138, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aripiprazole, a third‐generation antidepressant/antipsychotic drug, acts on serotonergic and dopaminergic receptors and is widely prescribed for mental disorders, such as depression and schizophrenia. Sex‐Specific Control and Incomplete Matings: Sperm Removal Behavior in a Bush Cricket Species

open access: yesEthology, Volume 132, Issue 3, Page 194-203, March 2026.
In this study, we investigated which sex influences the duration of sperm removal behaviour (SRB) in the ornate bush cricket, Metaplastes ornatus. Female traits showed a weak effect on SRB duration, and lighter females mated more frequently. Frequent unsuccessful mating terminations shortened SRB indicating high level of sexual conflict.

Unravelling Twin Births in German Holstein Cows: Phenotypic Associations, Genetic Analysis and Potential Underlying Genes and Hormones

open access: yesJournal of Animal Breeding and Genetics, Volume 143, Issue 2, Page 213-222, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Twin births in dairy cattle are rare but present significant challenges for animal welfare, as both the health of the cow and the calves are affected. This causes economic losses, which prompts breeders to select against twin births and identify associated risk factors.
