Register-insertion type slotted rings: a performance analysis

IEEE INFCOM '91. The conference on Computer Communications. Tenth Annual Joint Comference of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies Proceedings, 1991
A performance analysis of slotted rings is presented based on a register-insertion method which is proposed for broadband ring topology networks. The analysis is carried out under the assumption that each node contains a finite buffer space. A Markovian model is developed for the ring.

A Novel Subclassification of Type 2 Dermal Insertion Structures

Dermatologic Surgery
BACKGROUND Current anatomical classifications inadequately represent dermal insertion structures critical to facial movement, support, and aesthetic outcomes. Particularly, Type 2 structures—defined by direct connections to the dermis—lack precise subclassification.

Percutaneous insertion of Hickman-type catheters.

British journal of hospital medicine, 1992
Hickman lines may be used for long-term venous access in patients having chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, parenteral nutrition, or in others needing prolonged venous access. This article describes the technique of percutaneous insertion, some of the problems that may be encountered at insertion, and ways of minimizing these problems.

Abstract insertion sort in an extension of type theory with record types and subtyping

1998
We describe an extension of Martin-Lof's type theory with dependent record types and subtyping and use it for obtaining a formal definition of a general structure of the algorithms of sorting by insertion. We start by giving a general formulation of the sorting problem according to which the most general sorting algorithms are those that can be used ...
