On Search Times for Early-Insertion Coalesced Hashing
SIAM Journal on Computing, 1988The distributions of the search times for an early-insertion form of coalesced hashing (first proposed by \textit{J. S. Vitter}) are studied. It is demonstrated, in particular, that the largest search time is very close, in probability, to the one for the late-insertion coalesced hashing [\textit{B. Pittel}, Ann. Probab.

Insertion functions as a tool to guarantee security of processes is discussed and studied. We work with security properties opacity and processes opacity and we investigate how they can be enforced. The insertion function can alter behaviour of the original systems by inserting some actions to guarantee its security.

An earlier time for inserting and/or accelerating tasks
Real-Time Systems, 2009In a periodic real-time system scheduled by the EDF (Earliest Deadline First) algorithm (Liu and Layland, J. ACM 20(1), 40---61, 1973; Barauh, Proc. of the 27th IEEE International Real-Time Systems Symposium, 379---387, 2006; Buttazzo, J. Real-Time Syst. 29(1), 5---26, 2005), when new tasks have to be inserted into the system at run-time and/or current

Significance of colonoscope length in cecal insertion time
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, 2009According to a previous study, a longer insertion time was associated with inadequate bowel cleansing, advanced age, constipation, surgical history, sex, and a low body mass index. However, there are only a few studies on the association between cecal insertion time and colonoscope length (long vs intermediate). To assess the association of colonoscope ...

TA2I: Time Slot Access with Acknowledge Insertion
Proceedings. 2006 31st IEEE Conference on Local Computer Networks, 2006This paper introduces a new medium access scheme for ring-based, real-time local area networks which is called Time Slot Access with Acknowledge Insertion (TA2I). It is a variant of Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) together with a temporarily insertion of short acknowledges based on Register Insertion.

RITC: Repeater Insertion with Timing Target Compensation
IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI: New Frontiers in VLSI Design (ISVLSI'05), 2005This paper investigates the problem of repeater insertion for global interconnects under given timing constraints. A novel technique is proposed to aggressively reduce the positive timing slack for maximal repeater reduction while maintaining timing closure.

Redundant via insertion under timing constraints
2011 12th International Symposium on Quality Electronic Design, 2011Redundant via insertion is a useful technique to alleviate the yield loss and elevate the reliability of VLSI designs. While extra vias are inserted into the design, the electronic properties of designed circuit might be altered, and the circuit timing might be changed and needs to be efficiently re-analyzed.

The timing of norplant insertion and postpartum depression in teenagers
Journal of Adolescent Health, 2000This study tested the hypothesis that teenagers who have Norplant inserted during the puerperium report more depressive symptoms during the first postpartum year than their peers who do not receive Norplant. We studied the prevalence of depressive symptoms in a group of 212 mothers aged 19 years less, in relation to the timing of Norplant insertion. Timing-Driven Global Routing with Efficient Buffer Insertion
2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005Timing optimization is an important goal of global routing in the deep submicron era. To guarantee the timing performance of the circuit, merely adopting topology optimization becomes inadequate. We present an efficient timing-driven global routing algorithm with buffer insertion.

Component insertion times for electronics assembly
The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 1986From a review of individual time standards, handbook data, the results of experiments and on-site industrial observations, a database of operation times for the assembly of electronic components is developed. The results are presented in a form useful in cost estimating procedures.
