Effects of Nacelle configuration/position on performance of subsonic transport [PDF]

open access: yes
An experimental study was conducted to explore possible reductions in installed propulsion system drag due to underwing aft nacelle locations. Both circular (C) and D inlet cross section nacelles were tested. The primary objectives were: to determine the

Status of the Experiment on the Laboratory Search for the Electron Antineutrino Magnetic Moment at the Level mu_nu < 3 s 10^{-12}mu_B [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The experiment on the direct detection of antineutrino-electron scattering with an artificial tritium source allows to lower the present-day laboratory limit for the neutrino magnetic moment by two orders of magnitude.

Adaptor protein CIN85 potentiates the motility of osteosarcoma cells via the Akt/mTOR and MMP2‐COL3A1 axis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CIN85 is highly expressed in osteosarcoma, particularly in metastatic lesions. Its overexpression increases cell migration and Matrigel invasion, while silencing CIN85 suppresses these behaviors. Transcriptome analysis shows that CIN85 regulates MMP2, COL3A1, and Akt/mTOR signaling. Targeting these pathways reverses CIN85‐induced motility, highlighting

Installation Effects on Variable Pitch Fans

open access: yes, 2023
Future low pressure ratio fan systems require an extended operating range and variable pitch fans can achieve this by re-pitching the rotor blades. Moreover, a variable pitch fan has the potential of reducing fuel burn if sufficient reverse thrust can be generated, such that the engine weight and drag associated with heavy cascade-type thrust reversers

Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Embodied in a metaverse: "anatomia" and "body parts" [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper, the artist/author wishes to examine corporeality in the virtual realm, through the usage of the (non)-physical body of the avatar. Two sister art installations created in the virtual world of Second Life®, both of which are meant to be ...
