Adaptive Window Zero-Crossing-Based Instantaneous Frequency Estimation

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
We address the problem of estimating instantaneous frequency (IF) of a real-valued constant amplitude time-varying sinusoid. Estimation of polynomial IF is formulated using the zero-crossings of the signal.

A real-time time-frequency based instantaneous frequency estimator [PDF]

open access: yesSignal Processing, 2013
Commonly used time-frequency representations, like the short-time Fourier transform, the Wigner distribution and the higher order polynomial distributions, estimate the instantaneous frequency at the middle of the time-interval used in the analysis. For real time applications, like for example in radar signal processing, where the target parameters are

Refining instantaneous frequency estimation: Tackling abrupt transitions in aliased non-stationary signals

open access: yesFranklin Open
Many real-life non-stationary signals, such as jammers or communication signals, exhibit abrupt transitions in instantaneous frequency. Estimating instantaneous frequencies of such signals is vital in applications involving interference mitigation in ...

A pde-Based Analysis of the Spectrogram Image for Instantaneous Frequency Estimation

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Instantaneous frequency (IF) is a fundamental feature in multicomponent signals analysis and its estimation is required in many practical applications. This goal can be successfully reached for well separated components, while it still is an open problem

Over-the-Air Synchronization of Time, Phase and Frequency in a Distributed Receiving System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This paper addresses over-the-air synchronization of two distributed receivers connected to a fusion center via digital links. We distinguish between received signals’ synchronization and receiving channels’ synchronization.

Identification of the plant mitochondrial OrfX protein: A mass spectrometry approach

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The mitochondrial genome of plants contains an open reading frame, orfx, which encodes a rare protein that has so far escaped mass spectrometric detection. The protein resembles the c‐subunit of bacterial twin‐arginine‐motif‐dependent protein translocases (TatC).

INSTANTANEOUS FREQUENCY ESTIMATION USING A LEAST SQUARES TIME-FREQUENCY METHOD

open access: yesElectrica, 2004
We present a method for estimating the instantaneous frequency of a signal. This method involves the calculation of a time-frequency energy density of the signal, then obtaining an instantaneous frequency estimation from this joint density.

Statistical/computational comparison of some estimators for instantaneous frequency [PDF]

open access: yes[Proceedings] ICASSP 91: 1991 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1991
Some algorithms for estimating the instantaneous frequency of a constant-amplitude phase-modulated signal are reviewed and compared in terms of computational and statistical efficiency. Each of the algorithms is briefly described. The computational requirements for each algorithm are presented in tabular form, and the variance of each estimator ...

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Sub-Bottom Sediment Classification Using Reliable Instantaneous Frequency Calculation and Relaxation Time Estimation

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2021
The shift in IF (instantaneous frequency) series and the corresponding relaxation time have the potential to characterize sediment properties. However, these attributes derived from SBP (sub-bottom profiler) data are seldom used for offshore site ...
