SPARSE SIGNAL RECONSTRUCTION USING REFINED INSTANTANEOUS FREQUENCY ESTIMATION

open access: yesNED University Journal of Research, 2023
This study proposes an instantaneous frequency (IF) estimation and then applies this algorithm to reconstruct missing samples. The proposed IF estimation and sparse reconstruction algorithm is developed by adding a refinement step where the crude estimates of IFs and signal components are further improved through the re-estimation stage.

Adaptive Window Zero-Crossing-Based Instantaneous Frequency Estimation

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2004
We address the problem of estimating instantaneous frequency (IF) of a real-valued constant amplitude time-varying sinusoid. Estimation of polynomial IF is formulated using the zero-crossings of the signal.

A pde-Based Analysis of the Spectrogram Image for Instantaneous Frequency Estimation

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Instantaneous frequency (IF) is a fundamental feature in multicomponent signals analysis and its estimation is required in many practical applications. This goal can be successfully reached for well separated components, while it still is an open problem

Kernel estimation of the instantaneous frequency [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1994
We consider kernel estimators of the instantaneous frequency of a slowly evolving sinusoid in white noise. The expected estimation error consists of two terms. The systematic bias error grows as the kernel halfwidth increases while the random error decreases.

On the Analytic Wavelet Transform

open access: yes, 2010
An exact and general expression for the analytic wavelet transform of a real-valued signal is constructed, resolving the time-dependent effects of non-negligible amplitude and frequency modulation.

An Efficient Algorithm for Instantaneous Frequency Estimation of Nonstationary Multicomponent Signals in Low SNR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A method for components instantaneous frequency (IF) estimation of multicomponent signals in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is proposed. The method combines a new proposed modification of a blind source separation (BSS) algorithm for components ...

Refining instantaneous frequency estimation: Tackling abrupt transitions in aliased non-stationary signals

open access: yesFranklin Open
Many real-life non-stationary signals, such as jammers or communication signals, exhibit abrupt transitions in instantaneous frequency. Estimating instantaneous frequencies of such signals is vital in applications involving interference mitigation in ...

Over-the-Air Synchronization of Time, Phase and Frequency in a Distributed Receiving System

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
This paper addresses over-the-air synchronization of two distributed receivers connected to a fusion center via digital links. We distinguish between received signals’ synchronization and receiving channels’ synchronization.
