Zwischen Flexibilisierung und Stillstand. Raumzeitliche Arrangements und soziale Ungleichheiten in der Auslagerung von Hausarbeit über städtische Lieferdienste [PDF]

open access: yesGeographica Helvetica
In the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, class diagnostic narratives surrounding an emerging servant economy gained traction also in Europe. Especially grocery and food-delivery services in larger cities became emblematic for an urban middle class ...

Faults as Volumetric Weak Zones in Reservoir-Scale Hydro-Mechanical Finite Element Models—A Comparison Based on Grid Geometry, Mesh Resolution and Fault Dip

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
An appropriate representation of faults is fundamental for hydro-mechanical reservoir models to obtain robust quantitative insights into the spatial distribution of stress, strain and pore pressure.

Synapsids and sensitivity: Broad survey of tetrapod trigeminal canal morphology supports an evolutionary trend of increasing facial tactile specialization in the mammal lineage

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The trigeminus nerve (cranial nerve V) is a large and significant conduit of sensory information from the face to the brain, with its three branches extending over the head to innervate a wide variety of integumentary sensory receptors, primarily tactile.

Refining point-cloud neighborhood construction for improved classificationGithubZenodoZenodo

open access: yesScience of Remote Sensing
3D point clouds enable us to capture the structure of our environment in high detail. In the context of urban areas, point clouds allow us to segment single objects, detect changes, and generate detailed maps of highly complex scenes.

A first high-resolution carbon isotope stratigraphy from the Boreal (NW Germany) for the Berriasian to Coniacian interval—implications for the timing of the Aptian–Albian boundary

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2023
High-amplitude changes in sedimentary δ13C characterize the Cretaceous system and have been proven useful for supra-regional chemostratigraphic correlation.

Broadening the semiaquatic scene: Quantification of long bone microanatomy across pinnipeds

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Investigations of bone microanatomy are commonly used to explore lifestyle strategies in vertebrates. While distinct microanatomical limb bone features have been established for exclusively aquatic and terrestrial lifestyles, identifying clear patterns for the semiaquatic lifestyle remains more challenging.

A workflow for building and calibrating 3-D geomechanical models &ndash a case study for a gas reservoir in the North German Basin [PDF]

open access: yesSolid Earth, 2013
The optimal use of conventional and unconventional hydrocarbon reservoirs depends, amongst other things, on the local tectonic stress field. For example, wellbore stability, orientation of hydraulically induced fractures and – especially in fractured ...

Malignant melanoma of the urethra: a rare histologic subdivision of vulvar cancer with a poor prognosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Malignant melanoma of the urethra is a rare tumour that is difficult to diagnose and treat, resulting in a poor prognosis. In this paper, we present the case of a 65-year-old woman who was referred to a gynaecologist because of a urethral mass that ...

On New Alkaline Sulfatometallates: Cs6[(WO2)2O(SO4)4], K8[(MoO2)2(SO4)6], K7.9Sr0.1[(WO2)2(SO4)6] and Na4[MoO2(SO4)3]

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, EarlyView.
Two new alkaline sulfatometallates show promising optical absorption, emission and even non‐linear optical properties together with an astonishingly high thermal stability. The new sulfatotungstate Cs6[(WO2)2O(SO4)4] exhibits a hitherto unknown anion with an unusual W–O–W angle of 180° and edge‐sharing WO6 and SO4 polyhedra.

Effect of the Content and Ordering of the sp2 Free Carbon Phase on the Charge Carrier Transport in Polymer-Derived Silicon Oxycarbides

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
The present work elaborates on the correlation between the amount and ordering of the free carbon phase in silicon oxycarbides and their charge carrier transport behavior. Thus, silicon oxycarbides possessing free carbon contents from 0 to ca.
