An institution of modal logics for coalgebras [PDF]
This paper develops an abstract model-theoretic framework for the specification of certain inductively-defined coalgebraic types, based on the so-called ``institutions'' of Goguen and Burstall. The resulting coalgebraic institution is shown to have freeness properties dual to those which are common for the algebraic specification institutions.
