Electrodeposition in Structural Lattices of Variable Architectures
Electrodeposition enables geometry‐sensitive, autonomous void filling while simultaneously tuning chemical and mechanical properties. The development of approaches that can autonomously fill and heal material voids and yield composites with tailorable properties is increasingly relevant in engineering.

Harrington instrumentation for fractures and fracture-dislocations of the thoracic and lumbar spine.
The results of treatment of six patients, five males and one female, with unstable thoracolumber fracture and dislocaion are reported. The sites of injury were thoracolumbar spine in four patients and lumbar spine in two paients. Five of six patients showed neurological deficit after injury.

Finite Fracture Mechanics versus Phase Field: a case study on the crack onset from circular holes under biaxial loading conditions [PDF]
The phenomenon of brittle crack onset stemming from a circular hole embodied in a biaxially loaded infinite plate is herein investigated. Three different approaches are used to determine the biaxial safety domains: Finite Fracture Mechanics, Cohesive ...

Microstructural evolution of premium rail steel during flash butt welding (FBW), comparing physically simulated heat‐affected zones with actual weld regions. Thermal cycles induce phase transformations and microstructural heterogeneity that influence weld quality and mechanical performance. These findings provide insights into optimizing FBW parameters

Generalized phase-field models for brittle and ductile fracture
The formation of fracture or slip surfaces in brittle or perfectly-plastic bodies, respectively, is predicted by the minimization of a two field free-energy functional as in classical phase-field models.

Accelerated in situ formation of TiB and TiC in Ti–5Al–2.5Sn–B4C is driven by transient liquid phase formation, which enhances particle reactions and microstructural evolution. This process increases hardness and establishes a coupled relationship between sintering temperature and reinforcement content, strongly influencing porosity in the resulting ...

Fracture of rotary nickel titanium instruments
With the advent of rotary nickel titanium (NiTi) instruments, preparation of curved canals have become easy but chances of instrument separation have increased. Such an instrument separation can cause procedural problems in rendering endodontic therapy. There are various factors that cause separation of rotary NiTi instruments.
