Hyperfine interaction of defects in insulators

Advances in Physics, 1973
Abstract The study of point defects, other than impurities, in insulators by electron paramagnetic resonance (E.P.R.) and electron nuclear double resonance (E.N.D.O.R.) is discussed. An introduction to the theory of the hyperfine spectra as obtained by E.P.R. and E.N.D.O.R.

Photoconductivity characteristics of defect insulators

Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1975
Solutions to the general equations for photoconductivity presented previously (see ibid., vol.8, p.3353 (1975)) are obtained for the multiple trap level structure commonly occurring in defect insulators. Numerical computations are also shown to verify the results.

Defects in amorphous insulators

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1978
Abstract Electron spin resonance characterizations are presented for a number of defects in a selection of amorphous insulators, including oxide glasses, oxyhalide glasses, halide glasses, nitrate glasses, oxynitride glasses, and a sulfide glass.

The Properties of Defects in Magnetic Insulators

Reviews of Modern Physics, 1972
The introduction of a low concentration of defects into a magnetic insulator modifies the spectrum of the magnetic excitations. In general the spectrum consists of a set of impurity modes associated with the defect and its immediate neighbors. Impurity modes that occur outside the band of host excitations are localized in the neighborhood of the defect

Theory of defect complexes in insulators

Physical Review B, 2010
Defect complexes exhibit intricate electronic spectra, which can neither be described as a superposition of the constituent defect spectra, nor via conventional perturbative treatment applied thereupon. Instead, one must evaluate changes in the all-electron wave function in order to predict defect complex spectra.

Effect of Defective RTV Coatings on Insulation Performance of Porcelain Insulators

2019 International Power System Conference (PSC), 2019
In this work, the effects of defective RTV coatings on insulating performance of porcelain insulators and their performance improvement according to the electric field conditions are investigated. For this purpose, first, two samples of porcelain insulators with the defective coatings in the marginal points of the electric field (points where the ...
