Gerda Taro Bridge ‐ a semi integral composite bridge

ce/papers, 2023
AbstractFor the area developments on IJburg in Amsterdam, there was a need to connect the various islands with the mainland. The connection between the ‘Centrumeiland’ and the ‘Strandeiland’ is the Gerda Taro Bridge; with ‘Bridge 2125’ as project name. The Gerda Taro Bridge is part of the bridge family ‘Buitenwater’.

INTEGRATED BRIDGE SYSTEM

Naval Engineers Journal, 1977
ABSTRACTAn Integrated Bridge System (IBS) was developed and installed aboard an FF 1052 Class destroyer for the evaluation of its functional performance and reduced manning features. The program was initiated to improve the cost—effectiveness of performing ship control functions by applying integration and automation (including computer technology) to ...

DESIGN OF AN INTEGRATED BRIDGE

Naval Engineers Journal, 1975
ABSTRACTWhile significant changes have occurred in many areas of ship design during the past 50 years, surface ship bridges have basically remained the same. An increased awareness by the Navy of the need for reducing the manning required to operate Naval ships has led to a renewed interest in bridge design.

Integral Abutment Bridge Behavior: Parametric Analysis of a Massachusetts Bridge

Journal of Bridge Engineering, 2007
Integral abutment bridges are often a preferred bridge type for moderate spans throughout the United States. However, design methods and construction details vary from state to state. Variations between states are noted in the methods employed to accommodate deformations in the piles. The significance of these differences was evaluated through a finite-

Integral bridges. First integral railway bridge in Czech Republic

IABSE Reports, 2007
<p>Concept of integral bridges is a modern solution for short- and medium-span bridges, which enables design and construction of safe and economical structures with low requirements for maintenance during their life time. This concept is a way to built structures for long and efficient life, it means reliable structures with long durability and ...

Performance of Piles Supporting Integral Bridges

Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2002
Cyclic lateral load tests simulating 75 years of bridge life were performed on an H-pile, a pipe pile, and a prestressed reinforced concrete pile by applying over 27,000 displacement cycles. The data from the tests indicate that steel H-piles loaded on the weak axis are the best pile type for support of integral abutment bridges. Concrete piles are not

Effect of Bridge-Soil Interaction on Behavior of Integral Bridge

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
In this paper analytical evaluation of influence of bridge-soil interaction on the structural behavior of integral bridge with adjacent concrete box beams deck subjected to temperature rise was performed. Three different soil conditions loose, medium, and dense sand for the uppermost layer soil adjacent to abutment and abutment column were studied ...
