On the complete integral closure of a domain [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1972
For a given positive integer n, a semivaluation domain Dn is constructed so that the complete integral closure has to be applied successively exactly n times before obtaining a completely integrally closed domain. Letting Gn be the group of divisibility of Dn, we set G=E2IGn, the cardinal sum of the groups Gn.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Factorization in integral domains, II

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1992
Les AA. continuent l'étude des propriétés des anneaux intègres, qui sont plus faibles que les propriétés de anneaux factoriels, commencé dans la première partie du papier [cf. J. Pure Appl. Algebra 69, No. 1, 1-19 (1990; Zbl 0727.13007)]. Dans cette deuxième partie sont étudiés les comportements des propriétés pour les extensions d'anneaux intègres ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Near integral domains II

open access: yesMonatshefte fr Mathematik, 1975
A direct product decomposition is given for the multiplicative semigroup of a finite near integral domain in terms of the subsemigroup of left identities and a group of automorphisms on the additive group of the domain. Conditions are given which insure that every element will have a uniquen-th root. If there existsx≠0 such that (−x)y=−(xy), for eachy,

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Integral Education and Fulltime Schools in Goiânia

open access: yesEducação & Realidade, 2014
This article aims at identifying the school staff’s conceptions about integral education and fulltime schooling from a public school in Goiânia. It is a qualitative study based on ethnography in which the following instruments of generating data were ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.
