Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Solving linear Fredholm fuzzy integral equations of the second kind by artificial neural networks
This paper deals with the solutions of fuzzy Fredholm integral equations using neural networks. Based on the parametric form of a fuzzy number, a Fredholm fuzzy integral equation converts to two systems of integral equations of the second kind in the ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

On The Approximation Of Singular Integral Equations By Equations With Smooth Kernels [PDF]
Singular integral equations with Cauchy kernel and piecewise--continuous matrix coefficients on open and closed smooth curves are replaced by integral equations with smooth kernels of the form (t \Gamma ø )[(t \Gamma ø ) 2 \Gamma n 2 (t)" 2 ]

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
