Feelings Without Emotion: Rethinking Male Friendship and the Value of Personal Reticence
ABSTRACT In various Euro‐American contexts, commentators have highlighted how emotional reticence inhibits men's ability to understand themselves and connect with others. More generally, public discourses of affective expressivity often present curtailed emotion as a form of “repression.” Through an ethnographic account of male railway enthusiasts ...

Inverse Problems of Recovering Parameters in the Lin–Reissner–Tsien Equation
The article is devoted to the study of the solvability of new nonlinear inverse problems of finding an unknown constant together with solving the linearized Lin– Reissner–Tsien equation.

An inverse problem of finding the time-dependent diffusion coefficient from an integral condition [PDF]
We consider the inverse problem of determining the time-dependent diffusivity in one-dimensional heat equation with periodic boundary conditions and nonlocal over-specified data.

In this article, we consider a question of sovability of an inverse problem for a linear hyprbolic equation. Properties of the solution of an associated nonlocal initial-boundary problem with displacement in boundary conditions are used to develop an existence result for the identification of the unknown source.

Policing as Un‐Breathing and Geographies of Black Breathing in Europe
Abstract The nexus of racism and policing has gained much political attention in Europe since the 2020 mass protests that followed the uprisings after the murder of George Floyd in the US. While many protestors signalled solidarity with policed subjects in the US, they also emphasised the role of state violence “at home”.

In this paper we study the solvability of the inverse problem for a nonlinear system of heat convection with nonlocal overdefinition condition. In the inverse problem it is required to determine the velocity of the fluid, temperature, external forces and heat source. The theorem of existence and uniqueness of its solution is proved.

Abstract Natural landslide dams pose severe hazards when they fail, and understanding their breach processes remain challenging because such events are rarely observed directly in the field. To address this gap, we conducted large‐scale overtopping experiments with compacted (CP) and non‐compacted (NCP) dams, supported by a synchronized multi‐sensor ...

Coefficient Identification Problem with Integral Overdetermination Condition for Diffusion Equations
In this paper, we investigate a nonlinear inverse problem aimed at recovering a coefficient $a(t, x)$, dependent on both time and a subset of spatial variables, in a diffusion equation \( u_t - Δ_x u - u_{yy} +a(t, x) u = f(t,x,y) \), using an additional measurement given as an integral over the spatial domain. Here \(x \in G \subset \mathbb{R}^m\) and

Katrina's Diaspora: Lessons in Black Ambivalence
Abstract This essay examines post‐Katrina New Orleans to challenge overdetermining narratives of Black resistance at the expense of other modes of being, while countering portrayals reducing resistance to demands for inclusion into violent subjectivity.
