The integral cohomology of the Hilbert scheme of points on a surface
We show that if X is a smooth complex projective surface with torsion-free cohomology, then the Hilbert scheme $X^{[n]}$ has torsion-free cohomology for every natural number n.

Characterizing algebraic curves with infinitely many integral points
A classical theorem of Siegel asserts that the set of S-integral points of an algebraic curve C over a number field is finite unless C has genus 0 and at most two points at infinity. In this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions for C to have

Quadruple Best Proximity Points with Applications to Functional and Integral Equations
This manuscript is devoted to obtaining a quadruple best proximity point for a cyclic contraction mapping in the setting of ordinary metric spaces. The validity of the theoretical results is also discussed in uniformly convex Banach spaces.

Integral points on Markoff type cubic surfaces [PDF]
For integers $k$, we consider the affine cubic surface $V_{k}$ given by $M({\bf x})=x_{1}^2 + x_{2}^2 +x_{3}^2 -x_{1}x_{2}x_{3}=k$. We show that for almost all $k$ the Hasse Principle holds, namely that $V_{k}(\mathbb{Z})$ is non-empty if $V_{k}(\mathbb ...

Positive kernels, fixed points, and integral equations
There is substantial literature going back to 1965 showing boundedness properties of solutions of the integro-differential equation \[ x'(t) = -\int^t_0 A(t-s) h(s,x(s))ds \] when $A$ is a positive kernel and $h$ is a continuous function using \[ \int ...

Integral points on symmetric varieties and Satake compatifications [PDF]
Let V be an affine symmetric variety defined over Q. We compute the asymptotic distribution of the angular components of the integral points in V. This distribution is described by a family of invariant measures concentrated on the Satake boundary of V ...

Computing The Number of Integral Points in4-dimensional Ball Using Tutte Polynomial [PDF]
In recent years, the uses of high dimensional appear in a large and a lot of applications appearwithin it. So, we study these applications and take one of them that play a central role in the factoring of prime number which is an application especially ...

Integration with Stochastic Point Processes [PDF]
We present a novel comprehensive approach for studying error in integral estimation with point distributions based on point process statistics. We derive exact formulae for bias and variance of integral estimates in terms of the spatial or spectral characteristics of integrands and first- and-second order product density measures of general point ...
