Integrating models and integrated models: towards a unified model of information seeking behaviour

open access: yesInformation Research: an international electronic journal, 2022
Introduction. There has been a proliferation of information seeking models and theories, each incorporating different viewpoints, concepts, and terminology. While there have been prior attempts at integration, they have all focused on different facets of information seeking behaviour. Method / Analysis.

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Integrated modelling of tungsten accumulation control with wave heating: validation in ASDEX Upgrade and predictions for ITER

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
In present-day fusion devices, central wave heating is crucial to avoid core tungsten (W) accumulation. In this work, we present an integrated modelling framework that reproduces the reduction of core W peaking in ASDEX Upgrade experiments when multiple ...

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

AN INTEGRATED MODEL FOR THE CORRELATION INTEGRAL

open access: yesFluctuation and Noise Letters, 2007
The correlation integral is the main tool for the analysis of the chaotic time series. Its linear part (i.e. the scaling region) gives the attractor's dimension. In this work we propose a model that explains all the possible neighborhood ranges of the correlation integral. Empirical examples are given on artificial data.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.
