Ultralow Power Nonlinear Response in an Si Photonic Crystal Nanocavity
Optical nonlinear response and bistability behavior are observed in a fabricated silicon photonic crystal three defect-long (L3) nanocavity. The L3 cavity, which is coupled with a photonic crystal waveguide, has a quality factor of 60 000.

Hybrid graphene/silicon integrated optical isolators with photonic spin-orbit interaction
Optical isolators are an important building block in photonic computation and communication. In traditional optics, isolators are realized with magneto-optical garnets.

Compact silicon photonic waveguide modulator based on the vanadium dioxide metal-insulator phase transition [PDF]
We have integrated lithographically patterned VO2 thin films grown by pulsed laser deposition with silicon-on-insulator photonic waveguides to demonstrate a compact in-line absorption modulator for use in photonic circuits.

High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Subwavelength grating slot (SWGS) waveguide at 2 μm for chip-scale data transmission
We propose, design, fabricate and characterize a subwavelength grating slot (SWGS) waveguide on silicon platform at short-wave infrared (SWIR) wavelength of 2 μm. The mode guiding mechanism, i.e.

High accuracy transfer printing of single-mode membrane silicon photonic devices [PDF]
A transfer printing (TP) method is presented for the micro-assembly of integrated photonic devices from suspended membrane components. Ultra thin membranes with thickness of 150nm are directly printed without the use of mechanical support and adhesion ...

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.
