Subwavelength integrated photonics
Nature, 2018In the late nineteenth century, Heinrich Hertz demonstrated that the electromagnetic properties of materials are intimately related to their structure at the subwavelength scale by using wire grids with centimetre spacing to manipulate metre-long radio waves.

Ultrafast photonic intensity integrator
Optics Letters, 2009A method for ultrafast photonic time-intensity integration of an arbitrary temporal waveform is, for the first time to our knowledge, proposed and demonstrated. The introduced intensity-integration concept is based on the superposition of mutually incoherent, continuously-time-delayed replicas of the optical intensity waveform to be processed.

Dynamic photonic structure for integrated photonics
SPIE Proceedings, 2010Based on the effects of photonic transitions, we show that a linear, broadband and nonreciprocal on-chip optical isolation can be accomplished by dynamic refractive index modulations. Such scheme allows for on-chip optical isolation using standard CMOS fabrication process.

Silicon Photonics and Integrated Photonic Switches
2019 International Symposium on VLSI Technology, Systems and Application (VLSI-TSA), 2019Silicon photonics has emerged as a promising solution to address the interconnect bottleneck in high performance computing (HPC) systems and data centers. Silicon photonics provides unprecedented I/O bandwidth, enabling ultrahigh aggregated bandwidth (~ 10 Tbps), high bandwidth density (~ Tbps/mm), and high energy efficiency (~ pJ/bit).
