Reprogramming the Immunosuppressive Microenvironment in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer via FAP‐Targeted Nanoprobes for Multimodal Imaging and Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) with fibroblast activation protein (FAP)‐directed nanoprobes for multimodal imaging and photothermal remodeling of the immunosuppressive microenvironment to enhance immunotherapy in triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC).

Recent Advances in Ferrite‐Based Materials for Biomedical Applications: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ferrite nanoplatforms are presented as tunable biomedical materials in which synthesis control, cation engineering, defect/morphology regulation, and surface functionalization govern structure–property–bioactivity relationships. These design strategies enable multifunctional applications including MRI contrast, magnetic hyperthermia, targeted drug ...

Anisotropic Masked Mycobacterium Potentiates Amplified Antitumor Trained Immunity via Spleen Targeting and Myelopoiesis Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An engineered Trojan Mycobacterium, developed via a “peeling‐off and masking‐up” strategy, functions as a powerful splenic myelopoiesis converter. This spleen‐targeted nanomedicine induces trained immunity to reprogram immunosuppressive myeloid reservoirs into antitumoral effectors.

Nuclear Pore Mechanotransduction in Oncology: A Structural Axis of Vulnerability for Targeted Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated NPC remodeling creates a high‐flux, low‐stringency nuclear state that supports malignant adaptation but increases mechanical fragility. Targeting the FG‐barrier or NPC scaffold may drive mechanostat failure, envelope rupture, DNA damage, and loss of nuclear integrity.

Cation‐π Interaction‐Based Biointerface for Low‐Cost PD‐1 Detection Toward NSCLC Immunotherapy Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A cation‐π interaction‐based biointerface is engineered on a CNT‐FET for label‐free detection of PD‐1. PD‐1 monoclonal antibodies are orientedly immobilized via cation‐π interactions between PCz‐wrapped semiconducting single‐walled carbon nanotubes and the Fc region of the monoclonal antibody.

Integrative surgical oncology: A model of acute integrative oncology

Cancer, 2021
Integrative oncology has emerged as a recognized medical subspecialty because of growing interest in the use of integrative medicine in modern cancer care on behalf of both patients and providers. Acutherapy and mind‐body techniques, such as meditation and yoga, have been shown to aid in symptom control and improve quality of life in oncologic patient ...

Integrative Oncology Scholars Program: A Model for Integrative Oncology Education [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, 2018
Oncology providers are often confronted by patients who use complementary or alternative therapies, but have limited knowledge or confidence on how to advise patients on appropriate use. Despite this, there are few opportunities for oncology providers to learn about complementary or alternative therapies, while at the same time there is a high demand ...

Integrative Oncology

Annals of Internal Medicine, 2009
Abstract People facing a new diagnosis of cancer are unsettled by their prognosis and treatment options, and they often seek to integrate complementary modalities into their conventional care plan, hoping to improve their chances of cure and decrease side effects. Many do so without informing their oncologist, for fear of alienating them
