Strategic approaches to creating and developing the concept of business integrity [PDF]

open access: yesStrategic Management, 2016
The continuous determination of the developing business systems to maintain a long-term relationship with its key internal, as well as external stake-holders, predominantly lies in the capacity of their managers, as leaders, to perceive, conceptualize ...

The skills required for transition to university and study in biological sciences: A student perspective

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioscience students were asked for their opinions on the value and teaching of skills. 204 responded that teamwork, time management and study skills are necessary to reach University, that scientific writing, research, laboratory and presentation skills are taught effectively during their studies, while other skills are gained inherently through study ...

A Methodology for Vertically Partitioning in a Multi-Relation Database Environment

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2007
Vertical partitioning, in which attributes of a relation are assigned to partitions, is aimed at improving database performance. We extend previous research that is based on a single relation to multi-relation database environment, by including ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

PGTI: Pose-Graph Topological Integrity for Map Quality Assessment in SLAM

open access: yesRobotics
We introduce the pose-graph topological integrity, an approach designed to assess the correctness of pose graphs in simultaneous localization and mapping. Traditional methods assessed map quality according to the optimality criteria based on pose graphs,

A linear programming joint optimization model of overnight train timetabling and maintenance planning on high-speed railway

open access: yesScientific Reports
Maintenance activities on high-speed railway (HSR) facilities are essential for ensuring operational integrity, typically scheduled during the overnight window (0:00–6:00) to avoid disrupting daytime services.

Hyperactive ice‐binding proteins stabilize cell membranes and improve resistance to dehydration stress in Caenorhabditis elegans

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.
