Coordinating Intelligent Agents

2002
This chapter will focus on how to get organizations - multiple software agents and perhaps humans - to coordinate thier activities when they are working on shared, loosely coupled problems, such as engineering design or information gathering. It will describe some useful representations (including taems [Task Analysis and Environment Modeling System ...

Agents, Intelligence and Tools

2009
This chapter investigates the relationship among agent intelligence, environment and the use of tools. To this end, we first survey, organise and relate many relevant approaches in the literature, coming from both within and without the fields of artificial intelligence and computer science.

Intelligent media agents

International journal of intelligent defence support systems, 2009
The quantity of information/data in the world is increasing exponentially. This is no longer the question of quantity, but how to find and deliver them, in order to make them useful to the user. Information is getting more difficult to locate, gather, filter, evaluate and integrate.

An Intelligent Swarm of Markovian Agents

2015
We define a Markovian agent model (MAM ) as an analytical model formed by a spatial collection of interacting Markovian agents (MA s), whose properties and behavior can be evaluated by numerical techniques. MAMs have been introduced with the aim of providing a flexible and scalable framework for distributed systems of interacting objects, where both ...

Intelligent Agent for Collaborative Diagnosis

1998
An agent-based approach to facilitating cooperative medical diagnosis is presented in this paper. Background work in computer supported cooperative work and medical informatics is first discussed. Relevant theory for interaction management is then considered. An agent-based interaction is then shown via a case study to facilitate cooperative diagnosis.

A Multi-agent Architecture for Intelligent Mobile Agents

2001
The client/server technology manages to carry and treat an ever increasing amount of data. However, it is poorly scalable and personalized, and it does not consider the topology of networks. In spite of many weaknesses and the lack of killer applications, multi-agent and mobile agent systems offer more flexibility and reduce network load.

Teleporting Universal Intelligent Agents

2014
When advanced AIs begin to choose their own destiny, one decision they will need to make is whether or not to transfer or copy themselves (software and memory) to new hardware devices. For humans this possibility is not (yet) available and so it is not obvious how such a question should be approached.
