Intensity‐modulated radiation therapy

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2008
AbstractIntensity‐modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) has found widespread use in the treatment of head and neck cancers. This technology allows for conformal dose distributions around a tumor target while a rapid dose fall‐off spares surrounding critical structures.

Addressing temporal Kerr cavity solitons with a single pulse of intensity modulation.

Optics Letters, 2018
We experimentally and numerically study the use of intensity modulation for the controlled addressing of temporal Kerr cavity solitons (CSs). Using a coherently driven fiber ring resonator, we demonstrate that a single temporally broad intensity ...

A harmonic subtraction technique to suppress intensity modulation induced Kerr effect drift in a closed-loop RFOG

Optics Communications, 2018
Based on second harmonic difference between two counter-propagating beams, a harmonic subtraction technique is proposed to suppress the intensity modulation induced Kerr effect drift in a closed-loop RFOG.

Intensity modulated moire and its intensity-phase analysis

Proceedings. Fourteenth International Conference on Pattern Recognition (Cat. No.98EX170), 2002
Moire topography has the advantage that it just requires a single image, but it cannot discern the fringe order. So, it is difficult to discern the connection among fringes in the case where the fringe orders are not continuous. In our work, an intensity modulated moire is presented. By modulating the transmission of projection and observation grating,

On the Capacity of the Intensity-Modulation Direct-Detection Optical Broadcast Channel

IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, 2016
The capacity of the intensity-modulation direct-detection optical broadcast channel (OBC) is investigated, under both average and peak intensity constraints.

Defining Strategies of Modulation of Antiplatelet Therapy in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease: A Consensus Document from the Academic Research Consortium

Circulation, 2023
Antiplatelet therapy is the mainstay of pharmacologic treatment to prevent thrombotic or ischemic events in patients with coronary artery disease treated with percutaneous coronary intervention and those treated medically for an acute coronary syndrome ...

Combined effect of pump-light intensity and modulation field on the performance of optically pumped magnetometers under zero-field parametric modulation

, 2020
This paper investigates the performance optimization of optically pumped magnetometers under zero-field parametric modulation. Based on the analytical solutions of the Bloch equation, both longitudinal and transverse modulations are studied ...

Acoustooptic modulator intensity servo

Applied Optics, 1979
A device has been constructed that combines optical isolation and amplitude noise reduction by the use of a servo controlled acoustooptic intensity modulator. The isolation can, in principle, be perfect while the noise reduction can be significant up to about 100 kHz and as large as 80 dB at low frequency.

Reshapable physical modulator for intensity modulated radiation therapy

Medical Physics, 2002
A new method of generating beam intensity modulation filters for intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) is presented. The modulator was based on a reshapable material, which is not compressible but can be deformed under pressure. A two‐dimensional (2D) piston array was used to repeatedly shape the attenuating material.
