On the Inter-Symbol-Interference in several Ultra Wideband systems

open access: yes2005 2nd International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems, 2005
The performance of several ultra-wideband (UWB) transmission schemes is analysed when the channel is frequency selective so that inter-symbol-interference (ISI) arises at the receiver. The UWB schemes considered employ time hopping (TH) and/or direct sequence (DS) as spreading method and a correlation receiver.

Estimation of inter-symbol interference using clock pattern

2015 16th International Conference on Electronic Packaging Technology (ICEPT), 2015
Due to advancement in technology and higher demand of frequency, the effect of jitter components, especially inter-symbol interference (ISI), plays significant impact on performance of high speed serial links. The analysis of jitter components is useful for testing of high speed circuits.

Inter-symbol-interference free and inter-carrier-interference free filter design

2013 IEEE Long Island Systems, Applications and Technology Conference (LISAT), 2013
In this paper, direct optimization approaches are proposed for minimizing the inter-symbol interference (ISI) and the inter-carrier interference (ICI) caused by a truncated prototype filter. Based on the ideal ISI-free and/or ICI-free conditions in the transformed domain, one can define the ISI and/or ICI cost functions of the time-domain samples of ...

Research on the inter symbol interference mitigation for the MIMO-OFDM systems

2011 International Conference on Electronics, Communications and Control (ICECC), 2011
Inter symbol interference (ISI) and Inter carrier interference (ICI) are widespread in the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems. This paper mainly discusses the ISI mitigation in MIMO-OFDM systems. Combining with the V-BLAST method, we use a decision feedback technique for ISI cancelation and a cyclic reconstruction ...

Inter-Symbol Interference Aware Frame Synchronization

2006 IEEE 63rd Vehicular Technology Conference, 2006
Frame synchronization is conventionally intended as "epoch recovery" of a symbols synchronous stream. But, what happens when symbol timing is unknown? A typical approach to this problem involves oversampling, which is computational intensive. This paper introduces a novel alternative approach whereby the detector is made aware of the emerging ISI due ...

Inter-Symbol Interference analysis in neuro-synaptic communications

2016 8th International Symposium on Telecommunications (IST), 2016
Neuro-synaptic communication system has a vital role in transporting information in the body nervous system. This system uses electrical pulses and neurotransmitters as its information carriers and sends them through the body neural network. Some illnesses like seizures, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis corrupt data transmission by adding extra ...

Transmit Diversity Design for Channels with Inter Symbol Interference

2013 IEEE 78th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC Fall), 2013
Alamouti derived a two-branch transmit diversity scheme for channels without inter symbol interference (ISI) in [1], which provides full space diversity. In order to handle with the corresponding situation when the channel suffers from ISI, a novel transmit diversity scheme applicable to frequency selective channel is proposed.

Performance of Monobit Digital Receivers with Inter-Symbol Interference

IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, 2014
Implementation complexity and power consumption are the two most crucial problems in impulse radio (IR) communications, which is seen as a promising contender for broadband wireless systems. To address such issues, monobit sampling with Nyquist rate was introduced, and the corresponding receiver without inter-symbol interference (ISI) was obtained.

A multirate equalizer for inter-symbol interference channels based on successive interference cancellation

2013 IEEE 24th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2013
A multirate transmission scheme to mitigate intersymbol interference (ISI) is proposed in this paper. The proposed method first decomposes the channel into two half-rate subchannels by employing successive interference cancellation (SIC). Then the channel is further decomposed into 2M parallel channels by applying the method recursively. We demonstrate
