The challenges of robust inter-vehicle communications
Inter-vehicle communication has to be able to cope with adverse conditions like received signal strength fluctuations, channel load saturation, or high mobility to provide robust communication services as a basis for safety-related applications. We show the impact of realistic radio models on the performance of vehicular ad hoc networks.

A Message Suppression Method for Inter-Vehicle Communications
2017In our previous work, we evaluated the performance of our proposed method for message suppression in Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs). In this paper, we propose a calculation method of message suppression time for inter-vehicle communications. The proposed method considers time-series data of newly discovered vehicles and neighbors parameters.

Towards an Inter-vehicle Communication Algorithm
2006 3rd International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2006This article examines the potential role of wireless ad-hoc networks and the LORA-CBF routing algorithm for inter-vehicular communications in the context of optimizing traffic flow and increasing vehicular safety. The LORA-CBF algorithm is discussed in detail and preliminary test bed results are provided, followed by recommendations for future research.

A Network Based On Inter-vehicle Communication
Proceedings of the Intelligent Vehicles '93 Symposium, 2005This paper presents an inter-vehicle networking method as a means of data exchange. By using this method, each vehicle can know the position of its neighboring vehicles, the traffic information captured by other vehicles, and the neighbor node's information such as speed or braking. Spread Spectrum communications, using optical media, is used to create

DOLPHIN for inter-vehicle communications system
Proceedings of the IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium 2000 (Cat. No.00TH8511), 2002Inter-vehicle communications (IVC) technology for group cooperative driving has been studied by the Association of Electronic Technology for Automobile Traffic and Driving (JSK) since 1980 in Japan. The study of the IVC technology has been focussed on the communication protocol.

Improved GPSR in Inter-vehicle Communication
2010 International Conference on Communications and Mobile Computing, 2010After analyzing GPSR under traffic scenarios, we find its poor performance dues to extremely uneven distribution of vehicles. Considering the characteristics of the traffic scenario, we propose Improved GPSR using an electronic map. The simulation results show that Improved GPSR performs better than GPSR on Packet Delivery Ratio.

Optimized inter-vehicle communications using NEMO and MANET
2006 3rd Annual International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Systems - Workshops, 2006In this paper, we investigate the interaction between a Network Mobility protocol: the NEtwork MObility (NEMO) Basic Support - and a pro-active Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) routing protocol: the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol. We define a proof of concept architecture and build it using actual nodes.

An improved comfortable driving model with inter-vehicle communication
2016 12th IEEE International Conference on Control and Automation (ICCA), 2016An improved comfortable driving model with inter-vehicle communication (IVC) is proposed in this paper. Vehicles in our model can obtain more integrated driving information such as headway distance, brake light state and velocity through IVC. By taking a number of preceding vehicles' driving information into consideration, drivers can predict the next ...
