Inter-Vehicle Communication with Platooning

open access: yes, 2014
Today’s way of driving works very well, but there can be substantial improvements made in the road systems and in the vehicles themselves. Many of the disadvantages of current road systems and vehicles can be removed in the future by using appropriate information and communication technology.

Estimating Rain‐Specific Attenuation at Extremely High Frequencies From Disdrometer Measurements at Various Climate Zones in the US

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 4, Page 357-367, July/August 2026.
ABSTRACT The raindrop size distribution (DSD) plays an essential role in understanding rain attenuation effects at extremely high frequencies (EHFs). Over 1 year of DSD measurements was taken at different Köppen–Geiger climate classifications within the United States. Optical disdrometers from Thies Clima were used to measure both the size and velocity

Shaping expectations, losing flexibility: A study of CEO promises as strategic communication tools

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 7, Page 1980-2061, July 2026.
Abstract Research Summary CEO promises are powerful but understudied communication tools. We develop a dual‐mechanism framework theorizing that while CEO promises elevate stakeholder expectations, they simultaneously constrain strategic flexibility. We argue that CEO promise‐making is shaped by two competing pressures: making more promises when the ...

LLM‐Assisted Topic Modelling for Hate Speech Characterization

open access: yesExpert Systems, Volume 43, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT In the digital era, the internet and social media have transformed communication but have also facilitated the spread of hate speech and disinformation, leading to radicalization, polarisation and toxicity. This is especially concerning for media outlets due to their significant role in shaping public discourse. This study examines the topics,

Invisible Architects of Labour Internationalism: How Professional Experts Shape Cross‐Border Union Relations in Turkey

open access: yesGlobal Networks, Volume 26, Issue 3, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This article examines how local trade unions in Turkey have cultivated global partnerships over the past two decades, with particular attention to how cross‐border interactions are organized and sustained in practice. Although agency‐centred explanations of labour internationalism emphasize the role of progressive union leaders, I shift ...

scResponse: A Rank‐Based Method for Identifying Cell States That Contribute to Immunotherapy Response by Single‐Cell Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
Although the tumor microenvironment is known to shape immunotherapy response, its key determinants remain elusive, underscoring the critical need for single‐cell resolution analytical frameworks. We present scResponse, an efficient algorithm to quantify single‐cell responses to immunotherapy. By capturing diverse cellular subtypes and states associated

Implementing multidomain non‐pharmaceutical interventions for preventing cognitive decline in community‐dwelling older adults in China: An embedded mixed‐methods implementation study of determinants and strategies

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION The WW‐FINGERS network has demonstrated the efficacy of multidomain non‐pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) but left their real‐world implementation largely unexplored, prompting this study in Changxing County to identify key determinants and develop actionable strategies for community‐based delivery.

Integrating the Health Sector Into Nationally Determined Contributions: Challenges, Opportunities and Pathways for Climate Resilient Health Systems

open access: yesClimate Resilience and Sustainability, Volume 5, Issue 1, June 2026.
This article examines how the health sector can be systematically integrated into NDCs to address climate risks. It identifies persistent challenges such as weak data, finance gaps, and institutional fragmentation, while highlighting opportunities in co‐benefits, resilient infrastructure, and cross‐sectoral collaboration.

A Trust‐Based Random Forest Approach for Detecting Blackhole Attacks in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
A multi‐metric trust framework combined with Random Forest learning detects and mitigates blackhole attacks in VANETs. By dynamically isolating malicious vehicles, the model sustains high packet delivery, low latency, and accurate intrusion detection under severe attack conditions.

Recent advances in organic broad‐spectrum photodetection materials and devices

open access: yesInfoMat, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
This review systematically outlines the evolution of organic photodetectors from fullerene‐based to advanced non‐fullerene acceptors, highlighting how molecular engineering (e.g., D–A, quinoidal, and A‐D‐A′‐D‐A architectures) extends spectral response into the short‐wave infrared region.
