INTERACTING BOSONIC MODELS AND THEIR SOLUTION

Modern Physics Letters A, 1991
A family of interacting bosonic models is studied. A picture is suggested where each such conformal field theory is tensored with a conjugate one to give a free bosonic theory. It is shown that the lattice of the bosonic theory is determined in each case, and how the spectrum and correlation functions can be calculated.

Interacting boson model with boson surface-delta interaction

Journal of Physics G: Nuclear Physics, 1986
Within the framework of the interacting boson model, the authors consider a boson system in which all bosons interact through a surface-delta interaction which spans several single-boson states. The model is tested with medium or heavy two-boson nuclei. Energy levels and relative B(E2) values are reproduced well in some sample calculations.

Interaction strengths in the interacting boson-fermion model

Physical Review C, 1988
Although a number of different types of boson-fermion interactions are possible in the interacting boson-fermion model, empirical results have shown that the exchange term is of cardinal importance. A recently constructed similarity transformation which reexpresses the Dyson boson images of the single-j shell fermion operators in terms of seniority ...

The Interacting Boson Model

Physics Bulletin, 1988
F lachello and A Arima 1987 Cambridge: Cambridge University Press x + 250 pp price £32.50 ISBN 0 521 30282 X Lacking a workable underlying theory, the understanding of nuclear structure physics has developed on the basis of a series of models. The idea of an individual nucleon, mean'field model goes back to Bethe's 1936 article, and the inclusion of a ...

Hexadecapole systematics in the interacting boson model

Physical Review C, 1991
The role of the hexadecapole degree of freedom in the description of band systematics in the rare-earth deformed nuclei is discussed. Using the 1/N expansion technique, we show that a self-consistent treatment of the quadrupole and hexadecapole modes can describe experimental systematics in the interacting boson model.

Nuclear shell model and interacting bosons

Nuclear Physics A, 1978
In this workshop we have seen that the interacting boson model provides us with a unified phenomenological description of vibrational, rotational and transitional nuclei.
