Testing the Radio-selection Method of Dual Active Galactic Nuclei in the Stripe 82 Field

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We test the merger-induced dual active galactic nuclei (dAGNs) paradigm using a sample of 35 radio galaxy pairs from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey Stripe 82 field.

Searching for TeV Dark Matter in Irregular Dwarf Galaxies with HAWC Observatory

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
We present the results of dark matter (DM) searches in a sample of 31 dwarf irregular (dIrr) galaxies within the field of view of the HAWC Observatory.

Triggering Star Formation by Galaxy-Galaxy Interactions [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 2004
We analyzed the effects of having a close companion on the star formation activity of galaxies in the 8K galaxy pair catalog selected from the 2dFGRS. We found that, statistically, galaxies with rp < 25h−1 kpc and ΔV < 100km s−1 have enhanced star formation with respect to isolated galaxies with the same luminosity and redshift distribution.

Galaxy Zoo: Mergers – Dynamical models of interacting galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2016
The dynamical history of most merging galaxies is not well understood. Correlations between galaxy interaction and star formation have been found in previous studies, but require the context of the physical history of merging systems for full insight into the processes that lead to enhanced star formation.

What is driving the evolution of the far-infrared radio correlation? [PDF]

open access: yesZbornik Matice Srpske za Prirodne Nauke, 2019
Far infrared-radio correlation represents a linear relationship between far-infrared (FIR) and radio emission in star-forming galaxies. Previous observations have confirmed that this correlation is maintained over a large range of redshift and ...

Exploring the Impact of Galactic Interactions and Mergers on the Central Star Formation of APEX/EDGE–CALIFA Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Galactic interactions and subsequent mergers are a paramount channel for galaxy evolution. In this work, we use the data from 236 star-forming CALIFA galaxies with integrated molecular gas observations in their central region (approximately within an ...

S0 Galaxies: Outer Gas Accretion through Tidal Interaction and Minor Merging

open access: yesGalaxies, 2023
To clarify the sources of outer gas accretion onto disk galaxies, we study the vicinity of four interacting galaxy systems in the Hα emission line by using the scanning Fabry–Perot interferometer of the 6m telescope of the Special Astrophysical ...

INTERACTIONS OF GALAXIES IN THE GALAXY CLUSTER ENVIRONMENT [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2009
We study the dependence of galaxy properties on the clustercentric radius and the environment attributed to the nearest neighbor galaxy using the SDSS galaxies associated with the Abell galaxy clusters. We find that there exists a characteristic scale where the properties of galaxies suddenly start to depend on the clustercentric radius at fixed ...
