Galaxy mergers funnel gas toward the nuclei, igniting starbursts and active galactic nuclei (AGNs). The AGN feedback can reshape the host galaxy and regulate both star formation and supermassive black hole accretion.

ABSTRACT This review explores the impact of gravitational instability on convective heat transfer, integrating existing research results and theoretical models. Gravitational instability is vital in promoting or hindering convective actions in different systems, such as atmospheric events, ocean currents, and industrial processes.

High-redshift Merger-induced Bar-like Galaxies in IllustrisTNG
Recent discoveries made with JWST observations include a significant number of barred galaxies at high redshift. Their origin remains unclear, and their presence seems difficult to reproduce in cosmological simulations of galaxy formation and evolution ...

We perform a statistical analysis of AGN host characteristics and nuclear activity for AGNs in pairs and without companions. Our study concerns a sample of AGNs derived from the SDSS-DR4 data by Kauffmann et al (2003) and pair galaxies obtained from the same data set by Alonso et al. (2006).

Luminous Infrared Galaxies in the Local Universe
We study the morphology and star formation properties of 159 local luminous infrared galaxy (LIRG) using multi-color images from Data Release 2 (DR2) of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS). The LIRGs are selected from a cross-correlation analysis between

Galaxy–galaxy mergers are crucial in galaxy evolution, but the tidal features around galaxies are often faint, making it difficult to identify interacting or merging galaxies.

Dark matter superfluidity and galactic dynamics
We propose a unified framework that reconciles the stunning success of MOND on galactic scales with the triumph of the ΛCDM model on cosmological scales. This is achieved through the physics of superfluidity.

COSMOS-Web: The Role of Galaxy Interactions and Disk Instabilities in Producing Starbursts at z < 4
We study of the role of galaxy–galaxy interactions and disk instabilities in producing starburst activity in galaxies out to z = 4. For this, we use a sample of 387 galaxies with robust total star formation rate measurements from Herschel, gas masses ...

Interacting Galaxies with MOND
We compare N-body simulations performed in MOND with analogs in Newtonian gravity with dark matter (DM). We have developed a code which solves the Poisson equation in both gravity models. It is a grid solver using adaptive mesh refinement techniques, allowing us to study isolated galaxies as well as interacting galaxies.
