SAPIEN: A SimulAted Part-Based Interactive ENvironment
Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2020Building home assistant robots has long been a goal for vision and robotics researchers. To achieve this task, a simulated environment with physically realistic simulation, sufficient articulated objects, and transferability to the real robot is ...

Interactivity-as-Product and Interactivity-as-Process
The Information Society, 2004This article attempts to clarify the murky conceptual water of “interactivity,” arguing that the term refers to two distinct phenomena: interactivity between people and interactivity between people and computers or networks. The former orients research on the process of interactivity. The latter orients research on the product of interactivity.

VR-GS: A Physical Dynamics-Aware Interactive Gaussian Splatting System in Virtual Reality
International Conference on Computer Graphics and Interactive TechniquesAs 3D content becomes increasingly prevalent, there’s a growing focus on the development of engagements with 3D virtual content. Unfortunately, traditional techniques for creating, editing, and interacting with this content are fraught with difficulties.

LYRA: an Interactive and Interactive Storyteller
2019 IEEE International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (CSE) and IEEE International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing (EUC), 2019Storytelling has always been a crucial part of education and caring of children throughout human history. Even in modern ages with advanced digital technologies and multimedia contents, the educational impact of storytelling for children is still very important. However, modern parents have less time for reading books for their children.

Embedded Interaction: Interacting with the Internet of Things
IEEE Internet Computing, 2010The Internet of Things assumes that objects have digital functionality and can be identified and tracked automatically. The main goal of embedded interaction is to look at new opportunities that arise for interactive systems and the immediate value users gain. The authors developed various prototypes to explore novel ways for human-computer interaction

Interactivity and non-interactivity on tabletops
Proceedings of the SIGCHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2010In the growing field of tabletop computing research, there has been an understandable focus on interactive aspects of tabletop use, in terms of technology, design, and behavioural analysis. In this paper, I highlight the importance of considering also non-interactive aspects of tabletop computing and the mutually dependent relationship between ...

Understanding cytokinesis interaction by interaction
StructureIn this issue of Structure, Hall et al.1 investigate the binding modes of anillin-like Mid1. During cytokinesis, Mid1 connects the contractile ring to the plasma membrane. Using computer simulations, the authors demonstrated how this connection is established via the L3 loop of the C2 domain.
