Rewiring the dynamic interactome
Molecular BioSystems, 2012Abstract Transcriptomics continues to provide ever-more evidence that in morphologically complex eukaryotes, each protein-coding genetic locus can give rise to multiple transcripts that differ in length, exon content and/or other sequence features. In humans, more than 60% of loci give rise to multiple transcripts in this way.

Deciphering the melanoma interactome
Journal of Cutaneous Pathology, 2008Late‐stage malignant melanoma continues to pose a significant therapeutic challenge, despite numerous recent advances in our understanding of the molecular and genetic pathways leading to tumor development and progression. Dr Scott McNutt was among the first researchers to employ the cutting edge technology, electron microscopy, to the study of ...

The mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling network is integrated into most, if not all, defined homeostatic and regulatory responses of eukaryotic cells. A systematic experimental and computational approach has been used to identify more than 2,000 protein interactions related to functions and regulation of the MAPK signaling network.

Analyzing IDPs in Interactomes
2020Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) and regions (IDRs) are commonly found in all proteomes analyzed so far. These proteins/regions are subject to numerous posttranslational modifications (PTMs) and alternative splicing, are involved in a wide range of cellular functions, and often facilitate protein-protein interactions (PPIs).
