Interaction of DNA-intercalating antitumor agents with adrenoceptors.

Molecular Pharmacology, 1985
The interaction between some examples of mononuclear and binuclear DNA-intercalating antitumor agents and alpha- and beta-adrenoceptors has been studied using radioligand-binding assays. Competition for 125I-BE 2254, [3H]rauwolscine, and (-)-[3H]dihydroalprenolol binding was used to assess affinity for alpha 1-, alpha 2-, and beta-adrenoceptor-binding ...

Intercalation compounds of hydrotalcite-like anionic clays with antiinflammatory agents — I. Intercalation and in vitro release of ibuprofen

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2001
Hydrotalcite-like compounds are layered solids having positively charged layers and interlayer charge-compensating anions. The synthetic Mg0.67Al0.33(OH)2 Cl0.33.0.6H2O, which is biocompatible, has been used to intercalate a model drug, ibuprofen, in order to prepare a modified release formulation.

Intercalated samarium as an agent enabling the intercalation of oxygen under a monolayer graphene film on iridium

Technical Physics Letters, 2016
Using thermal desorption time-of-flight mass spectrometry and thermionic methods, it is shown that oxygen does not intercalate under a graphene monolayer grown correctly on iridium, at least at temperatures of T = 300–400 K and exposures below 12000 L.

Oligonucleotides Attached To Intercalators, Photoreactive And Cleavage Agents

1991
Abstract During the past few years there has been a growing interest in the use of modified oligonucleotides as research tools in molecular biology and as specific inhibitors of gene expression. The potential therapeutic application of oligonucleotides as artificial gene control agents depends on the specificity of their binding to the ...

DNA intercalating anti-tumour agents.

Anti-cancer drug design, 1991
Only a small proportion of DNA intercalators known today exhibit experimental anti-tumour activity and even fewer are useful clinically, raising the question of precisely what properties are necessary for an anti-cancer effect. A search for answers to this question has revealed a complex picture of how intercalators can interact with DNA and other ...

Agrowaste with antioxidant properties as intercalating agents for LDH

2017
The exploitation of biowastes for the production of bio-based chemicals, materials or fuels has been recently fostered to the purpose of converting an environmental and economical concern into an industrial opportunity. Biowastes in fact, in most cases are rich in organic molecules as for example the olive mill wastewater (OMW), an aqueous waste ...
