Interception loss, throughfall and stemflow chemistry in pine and oak forests in northeastern Mexico [PDF]
Interception loss, gross precipitation, throughfall and stemflow solution chemistry beneath pine (Pinus pseudostrobus Lindl.), oak (Quercus sp.) and pine-oak natural forest canopies in northeastern Mexico were measured. Coefficients of variation for throughfall were 12% in pine and oak canopies and 17% in the mixed pine-oak canopy.

Polymer Interface Enables Reversible Quasi‐Solid Sulfur Conversion in Sodium‐Sulfur Batteries
The polymer interface enables a stable quasi‐solid sulfur conversion pathway in room‐temperature Na─S batteries. The coating regulates Na+ transport, stabilizes the cathode–electrolyte interphase, and accommodates mechanical stress, suppressing electrolyte decomposition and sulfur migration, thereby improving reaction uniformity, reducing polarization,

Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Measuring throughfall and interception loss in Horizontal cypress and Turkish pine afforestations and a natural stand of chestnut-leaved oak at Kohmian of Azadshahr, Iran [PDF]
The amounts of throughfall and interception loss are as significant as habitat suitability regarding to the tree selection for afforestation. Horizontal cypress (Cupressus horizontalis Mill.), Turkish pine (Pinus brutia Ten.), and chestnut-leaved oak ...

Bandgap‐engineered AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructures exhibit wavelength‐selective dual‐polarity photoelectrochemistry, switching from photocathodic to photoanodic response depending on excitation wavelength. The polarity transition is governed by band‐selective absorption, built‐in electric‐field‐driven carrier transport, and interfacial charge‐transfer ...

A cooperative and competitive interrelationship between alcohol oxidation (AOR) and water oxidation (OER) was observed on a typical anode catalyst of Ni2P. In situ Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses revealed a specific complementary mechanism between them, in which OER and AOR critically contribute to the activity and stability of anodic ...

Enhancing global rainfall interception loss estimation through vegetation structure modeling
Accurate estimates of rainfall interception loss are crucial for modeling the water balance of forested areas. However, considerable regional variability exists in the interception process, and much uncertainty remains. This study enhances the estimation
