CO2‐to‐CO Conversion in a Gas‐Fed, Zero‐Gap, PEM Electrolyzer Enabled by Polycations and Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A gas‐fed, zero‐gap, PEM CO2 electrolyzer is realized by incorporating PDDA+ ions onto the carbonaceous Co/N‐C electrocatalyst, with gaseous H2 and CO2 fed into the anode and cathode, respectively. Operating without an aqueous electrolyte, the system sustains a peak FECO of 65.1% at 100 mA cm−2. ABSTRACT Electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction (ECO2R)

Quantifying Rainfall Interception Loss of a Subtropical Broadleaved Forest in Central Taiwan

open access: yes, 2016
The factors controlling seasonal rainfall interception loss are investigated by using a double-mass curve analysis, based on direct measurements of high-temporal resolution gross rainfall, throughfall and stemflow from 43 rainfall events that occurred in

An Integrated Oxygen‐Supplying Device and Predictive Multiphysics Model for Extended Ambient Transport of Insulin‐Producing Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cell therapies typically rely on cold‐chain logistics and cryopreservation, limiting access and compromising cell quality. Here, a dual‐chamber device separates an oxygen‐supplying chamber from a hyaluronic acid cargo chamber, sustaining oxygen delivery for over 70 h and enabling ambient‐temperature shipment.

Enhancing global rainfall interception loss estimation through vegetation structure modeling

open access: yes
Accurate estimates of rainfall interception loss are crucial for modeling the water balance of forested areas. However, considerable regional variability exists in the interception process, and much uncertainty remains. This study enhances the estimation

Canopy interception loss in a pure oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) stand during the summer season [PDF]

open access: yesمجله جنگل ایران, 2009
At forest ecosystems, gross rainfall (GR) is partitioned into throughfall (TF), stemflow (SF) and results in canopy interception loss (CIL). In the present research, CIL, which is considered a major component of the water balance, was measured at the ...

Enhanced Ferroelectric Phase Formation via Local Structure Modification in the Pre‐Crystalline State of Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Hafnium zirconium oxide thin films are grown using plasma‐enhanced atomic layer deposition with the addition of an atomic layer annealing (ALA) step. ALA leads to a change in the short‐range structure of the deposit and encourages formation of the ferroelectric Pca21 phase. The result is wake‐up‐free performance with films exposed to ALA.

Estimating of interception loss, stemflow and throughfall in a natural stand of oriental Beech (Shastkalateh forest) [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات جنگل و صنوبر ایران, 2008
In this study, measurements of precipitation, throughfall and stemflow fluxes were conducted from November 2005 through November 2006 within a natural stand of oriental beech (Fagus orientalis Lipsky) in district 1, Shastkalateh, Hyrcanian forests.Total ...

Plasma Gelation as an Overlooked Determinant of Transfection Efficiency in Protein Corona‐Coated Lipid Nanoparticles: Implications for In Vitro–In Vivo Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Upon contact with plasma, lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) rapidly acquire a protein corona (PC) that redefines their biological identity. In calcium‐containing environments, these coronated particles trigger the formation of a gel‐like plasma network, profoundly altering their transport properties and reducing their effective availability.

Throughfall, stemflow and interception loss of old rubber trees [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
An interception study of old rubber trees was carried out in Skudai, Johor. Out of 35 rainfall events recorded, only 28 produced measurable throughfall and stemflow.

Lignin Mimicking Protein Methylation Augments the Efficacy of FOLFOX Chemotherapy by Anchoring Thymidylate Synthase

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Lignin‐mimicking protein methylation can enhance the efficacy and mitigate the toxicity of the classic FOLFOX chemotherapy regimen. ABSTRACT FOLFOX has served as the standard chemotherapy regimen for advanced stages, specifically in the treatment of pancreatic, colorectal, and bladder cancers.
