Throughfall, stemflow, and rainfall interception in a natural pure forest of chestnut-leaved oak (Quercus castaneifolia C.A. Mey.) in the Caspian Forest of Iran [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Research, 2012
In forest ecosystems, rainfall is partitioned by forest canopies intothroughfall (TF), stemflow (SF), and interception loss (I). In the present study the partitioning of rainfall was studied in a natural chestnut-leaved oak (Quercus castaneifolia C.A.Mey)

Characteristics of precipitation and the process of interception in a seasonally dry tropical forest

open access: yesJournal of Hydrology: Regional Studies, 2018
Study region: Iguatu Experimental Basin, located in the semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil. Study focus: The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of rainfall characteristics on throughfall, stemflow and interception loss in a deciduous

Estimation of interception loss from forests by using LAI

open access: yes2015 Fourth International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics (Agro-geoinformatics), 2015
Water production is simply a function of precipitation and evapotranspiration (ET). It is essential to quantify ET and/or its components in regional scale for water resources assessments or functional forest plans. Several models that combine empirical equations, field measurements and remote sensing data have been tested and proposed to achieve this ...

Canopy Storage Implications on Interception Loss Modeling

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Plant Sciences, 2014
A rainfall interception methodology was implemented in a deciduous Ficus benjamina (L.) tree to evaluate the interception loss, as well as the dynamics on canopy storage capacity (S) and free through fall (ρ). Measurements of gross precipitation (Pg), through fall and meteorological data were recorded every 5 minutes.

Canopy Interception for a Tallgrass Prairie under Juniper Encroachment. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Rainfall partitioning and redistribution by canopies are important ecohydrological processes underlying ecosystem dynamics. We quantified and contrasted spatial and temporal variations of rainfall redistribution for a juniper (Juniperus virginiana ...

Perbandingan Nilai Intersepsi Pohon Mahoni (Swietania mahagoni) dan Pohon Pinus (Casuarina cunninghamia)

open access: yesRona Teknik Pertanian, 2012
Comparation of Interception Loss on Mahoni (Swietania mahagoni) and Pinus (Casuarina cunninghamia) ABSTRACT. Interception of rain is the retention of rainwater on surface vegetation before it evaporates back into the atmosphere. Research relating to the

The role of rainfall and light interception by litter on maintenance of surface soil water content in an arid rangeland (Khabr National Park, southeast of Iran) [PDF]

open access: yesDesert, 2010
The impact of rainfall and light interception by litter on maintenance of surface soil water content is determined in an arid rangeland in Khabr National Park in south-east of Iran.

Modelling and measurement of two-layer-canopy interception losses in a subtropical evergreen forest of central-south China [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2006
The original Gash analytical model and the sparse Gash's model were combined to simulate rainfall interception losses from the top- and sub-canopy layers in Shaoshan evergreen forest located in central-south China in 2003.

Estimation of the Litter interception Loss in the Evergreen Forest

open access: yesJOURNAL OF JAPAN SOCIETY OF HYDROLOGY & WATER RESOURCES, 2003

Next generation synthetic memory via intercepting recombinase function

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Here we present a technology to facilitate synthetic memory in a living system via repurposing Transcriptional Programming (i.e., our decision-making technology) parts, to regulate (intercept) recombinase function post-translation.
