Spheroidization heat treatment and intercritical annealing of low carbon steel [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy. Section B: Metallurgy, 2019
Spheroidization annealing of low carbon steel and its effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dual phase (DP) steel were studied. It was revealed that the reduction in strength and hardness of the quenched martensitic microstructure ...

Research on Hot Stamping-Carbon Partition-Intercritical Annealing Process of Medium Manganese Steel. [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials (Basel), 2023
In order to improve the plasticity of hot stamping parts, this paper combines the heat treatment process with the plastic forming of sheet metal, and creatively proposes a new process of hot stamping-carbon partitioning-intercritical annealing. The mechanical properties and microstructure are characterized under the newly proposed process, the ...

Tempering and Intercritical Annealing of Air‐Hardening 4 wt% Medium Manganese Steels

open access: yessteel research international, 2021
The mechanical properties after tempering and intercritical annealing of medium manganese steels with 4 wt% Mn for forging applications are presented. After forging with subsequent air cooling, heat treatments were performed, specifically tempering from 250 and 450 °C and intercritical annealing between 600 and 675 °C.

Analysis of the relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties of intercritically annealed 3.5Mn steel

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2021
The paper mainly studies intercritically annealed medium manganese steel, which only contains 3.5 wt% Mn. After annealing at different temperature, the microstructure of the experimental steel is composed of ferrite and austenite with different ...

Quenching and Partitioning of Multiphase Aluminum-Added Steels

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The quenching and partitioning response following intercritical annealing was investigated for three lean TRIP-type high-Al steel compositions. Depending on the intercritical austenite fraction following annealing, the steels assumed either a ferrite ...

Effects of different intercritical annealing processes on microstructure and cryogenic toughness of newly designed medium-Mn and low-Ni steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
Through the idea of replacing Ni with Mn, a shortened process of ultra-fast cooling and two-step intercritical annealing for medium-Mn and low-Ni steel after rolling was designed.

Influence of cold-rolling reduction on retained austenite texture in cold-rolled and intercritically annealed TRIP-assisted steel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The newly developed multiphase transformation-induced plasticity (TRIP) steels are of interest for industrial applications because of their excellent combination of high strength and ductility.

Continuous Hot‐Dip Galvanizing of Medium‐Manganese Third‐Generation Advanced High‐Strength Steels

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 94, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Herein, the effects of process atmosphere pO2 on the reactive wetting of two medium‐Mn third‐generation advanced high‐strength steels during continuous hot‐dip galvanizing are interrogated. The substrates are austenitized, flash‐pickled, intercritically annealed, and galvanized in a conventional 0.2 wt% Al (dissolved) bath.

Austenite Formation and Manganese Partitioning during Double Soaking of an Ultralow Carbon Medium‐Manganese Steel

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 94, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Experimental dilatometry and phase‐field simulations demonstrate the ability to maintain heterogeneous Mn distributions during double‐soaking treatments of medium‐Mn steels. Insight is provided on how the secondary soaking temperature affects the ferrite‐to‐austenite phase‐transformation mechanism, which depends on the remaining ferrite Mn ...
