Proceedings of IEEE Ultrasonics Symposium ULTSYM-94, 1994A 50 MHz surface acoustic wave (SAW) delay line consisting of two interdigital transducers (IDTs) has been fabricated from a thin film of YBa2Cu3O7-d, a high temperature superconductor, deposited on YZ LiNbO3. The insertion loss measured as a function of temperature shows a large improvement (~12 dB) at the superconducting transition.
