Acoustic Sensing as a Tool for Brain Tumor Diagnostics

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 2, February 2026.
Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensing is used to distinguish non‐neoplastic brain tissue from primary and metastatic tumors based on their acoustic attenuation signatures. Ex vivo human brain samples reveal clear tissue‐specific mechanical profiles, correlating with stiffness and malignancy.

Preventive Effect of Powder Bergamot Juice (Citrus bergamia Risso & Poiteau) on Pathophysiological Processes of Renal Disease in an Experimental Western Diet Model

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 70, Issue 3, 13 February 2026.
Excessive intake of sugars and fats contributes to obesity and renal dysfunction. Natural bioactive compounds, such as those found in bergamot (Citrus bergamia), have been studied for their protective potential. In an experimental rat model, bergamot supplementation reduced weight gain, improved kidney function, and decreased oxidative stress markers ...

Nonlocal Damage Mechanics for Quantification of Health for Piezoelectric Sensor

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
In this paper, a novel method to quantify the incubation of damage on piezoelectric crystal is presented. An intrinsic length scale parameter obtained from nonlocal field theory is used as a novel measure for quantification of damage precursor.

Spectral theory of unidirectional transducers

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2014
A spectral theory of single-phase unidirectional transducers of the surface acoustic waves is presented. It helps to evaluate the stop-band width where the directionality takes place, and allows one to optimize the transducer structure in order to ...

Full‐Domain 3D Digital Twin for Comprehensive Analysis and Validation of Standing Surface Acoustic Wave Generation on LiNbO3 Substrate

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 1, 8 January 2026.
A full‐domain 3D digital twin of a standing surface acoustic wave (SSAW) device on 128° YX LiNbO3 is developed and experimentally validated. The predictive power of the model is confirmed by electrical characterisation and laser Doppler vibrometry measurements, which show excellent agreement with simulations.
