On an approximate method for calculating filters based on acoustic surface waves

open access: yesArchives of Acoustics, 2016
The work describes an electric filter consisting of interdigital transducers deposited on piezoelectric substrate. A method has been presented for computing the transducer parameters with an assumed amplitude-frequency cha¬racteristic.

Detection of a Submillimeter Notch-Type Defect at Multiple Orientations by a Lamb Wave A0 Mode at 550 kHz for Long-Range Structural Health Monitoring Applications

open access: yesSensors
The early detection of small cracks in large metal structures is a crucial requirement for the implementation of a structural health monitoring (SHM) system with a low transducers density.

Transfer scattering matrix of non-uniform surface acoustic wave transducers

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1987
This paper is concerned with a general mathematical theory for finding the admittance matrix of a three-port non-uniform surface acoustic wave (SAW) network characterized by n unequal hybrid sections.

Broadband surface acoustic wave attenuation in metals using chirp compression and dispersive interdigital transducers [PDF]

open access: yesJASA Express Letters
This study presents a non-destructive method for estimating surface acoustic wave attenuation, which is highly sensitive to microstructural features, especially at high frequencies.

Simultaneous surface acoustic wave and surface plasmon resonance measurements: electrodeposition and biological interactions monitoring

open access: yes, 2003
We present results from an instrument combining surface acoustic wave (SAW) propagation and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) measurements. The objective is to use two independent methods, the former based on adsorbed mass change measurements and the ...

Microfabricated Neural Biosensors for Detection of Neurotransmitters, Biomarkers, and Small Molecules: Emerging Trends on Self‐Sustained Systems and Energy Harvesting

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
This paper reviews the state of the art and recent developments in thin‐film biosensors for the detection of neurotransmitters, small molecules, and biomarkers within flexible, implantable bioelectronic systems. It covers the main sensing modalities, including electrochemical, plasmonic, acoustic, and magnetic, alongside their materials, transduction ...

Unidirectional Distributed Acoustic Reflection Transducers for Quantum Applications

open access: yes, 2019
Recent significant advances in coupling superconducting qubits to acoustic wave resonators has led to demonstrations of quantum control of surface and bulk acoustic resonant modes as well Wigner tomography of quantum states in these modes. These advances

Design and Characterization of an Integrally‐Soft Piezoresistive Sensor Combining an Elastomeric Nanocomposite and a Liquid Metal

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 1, January 2026.
We describe the design and characterization of a pressure sensor with soft core and electrodes. We first show the electro‐mechanical properties of the piezoresistive nanocomposite (poly(dimethylsiloxane)+carbon nanotubes, PDMS + CNTs). We then discuss the architecture, fabrication and electrical response of the sensor.

Surface acoustic wave-induced electroluminescence intensity oscillation in planar light-emitting devices

open access: yes, 2005
Electroluminescence emission from surface acoustic wave-driven light-emitting diodes (SAWLEDs) is studied by means of time-resolved techniques. We show that the intensity of the SAW-induced electroluminescence is modulated at the SAW frequency (~1 GHz ...
