Photoswitchable Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A conductive material where the conductivity can be modulated remotely by irradiation with light is presented. It is based on films of conductive metal–organic framework type Cu3(HHTP)2 with embedded photochromic molecules such as azobenzene, diarylethene, spiropyran, and hexaarylbiimidazole in the pores.

Performance evaluation of a novel synchronously interdigitated/winded lithium-ion battery configuration enabled by 3D printing through numerical simulations

open access: yesJPhys Energy, 2023
Thick electrodes with higher energy density are highly desirable for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). However, the sluggish transport of Li-ions in thick electrodes is a critical challenge.

Self-assembled ErAs islands in GaAs for optical-heterodyne THz generation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We report photomixer devices fabricated on a material consisting of self-assembled ErAs islands in GaAs, which is grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The devices perform comparably and provide an alternative to those made from low-temperature-grown GaAs ...

Interfacial capacitance immunosensing using interdigitated electrodes: the effect of insulation/immobilization chemistry.

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry, Chemical Physics - PCCP, 2019
With the aim of improving the reproducibility of capacitive immunosensors, we performed a comparative study of four different insulating/immobilization chemistries. Each chemistry targeted different areas of an interdigitated electrode including an alkyl

Organic Electrochemical Transistor Channel Materials: Copolymerization Versus Physical Mixing of Glycolated and Alkoxylated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work discusses the use of blended channel materials in OECTs. It explores how mixing glycolated and alkoxylated polymers in various ratios offers a simpler and more efficient route to tuning OECT properties. The performance of the polymer blends is compared to the corresponding copolymers, demonstrating similar OECT characteristics, swelling ...

A novel interdigitated capacitor based biosensor for detection of cardiovascular risk marker [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
C-reactive protein (CRP) is a potential biomarker whose elevated levels in humans determine cardiovascular disease risk and inflammation. In this study, we have developed a novel capacitive biosensor for detection of CRP-antigen using capacitor with ...

Redox cycling in nanofluidic channels using interdigitated electrodes

open access: yesAnalytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2009
Amperometric detection is ideally suited for integration into micro- and nanofluidic systems as it directly yields an electrical signal and does not necessitate optical components. However, the range of systems to which it can be applied is constrained by the limited sensitivity and specificity of the method.

Rational Fine‐Tuning of MOF Pore Metrics: Enhanced SO2 Capture and Sensing with Optimal Multi‐Site Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

Decamethylferrocene oxidation at interdigitated microband array electrodes in the absence of intentionally added supporting electrolyte: experiment versus finite element model

open access: yesDiscover Electrochemistry
The one-electron oxidation of decamethylferrocene (FeCp*2) in the absence of added supporting electrolyte is investigated as a model redox system in acetonitrile to shed new light onto (i) the effect of added supporting electrolyte and (ii) the impact of
