Longitudinal Relationship Between Pain and Depression in People With Inflammatory Arthritis: A Narrative Review

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
As many patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA) have chronic pain, understanding how to best assess and manage pain in IA is a priority. Comorbid depression is prevalent in adults with IA, affecting 15% to 39% of people. Although pain and depression are thought to be associated in IA, this concept is largely based on cross‐sectional data.

Tuning the size of skyrmion by strain at the Co/Pt3 interfaces

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: Based on density functional theory calculations, we elucidated the tunability of the atomic structures and magnetic interactions of Co/Pt3 interface (one layer of hcp(0001) Co and three layers of fcc(111) Pt) and thus the skyrmion sizes using ...

A micro-nano-rheometer for the mechanics of soft matter at interfaces [PDF]

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2016
We present a nano-rheometer based on the dynamic drainage flow between a sphere and a plane from bulk regime to highly confined regime. The instrument gives absolute measurements of the viscosity of simple liquids in both regimes. For complex fluids, the measurements involve the viscosity and the elastic modulus.

Colchicine Concentrations and Relationship With Colchicine Efficacy and Adverse Events: Post Hoc Analysis of a Randomized Clinical Trial of Colchicine for Gout Flare Prophylaxis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Our objective was to examine the relationship between colchicine plasma concentrations and clinical and demographic factors and to determine the relationship between colchicine concentrations and colchicine efficacy and colchicine‐specific adverse events.

Focusing characteristics of a 4 πparabolic mirror light-matter interface

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2017
Background Focusing with a 4 π parabolic mirror allows for concentrating light from nearly the complete solid angle, whereas focusing with a single microscope objective limits the angle cone used for focusing to half solid angle at maximum.

Matters of geoportal interfaces designing

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2019
The article is devoted to a detailed analysis of the problem of designing graphic geoportal interfaces. The authors formulated the basic points for solving problems in this field, having given the rationale and detailed description of each of them. The emphasis is made on the flexible arrangement of the design and development of interfaces, aiming at ...

Macroscopicity in an optomechanical matter-wave interferometer

open access: yes, 2014
We analyse a proposal that we have recently put forward for an interface between matter-wave and optomechanical technologies from the perspective of macroscopic quantumness.

Hyperoxia Induced Alteration of Chromatin Structure in Human Bone Marrow Derived Primary Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Chromatin, which organizes DNA, changes its structure to adapt to stress like high oxygen levels (hyperoxia), which can damage cells. Researchers developed a technique to observe these changes and found variability in how different parts of chromatin remodel.
