Influence of small amounts of additives on gas hold-up, bubble size, and interfacial area [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The gas-liquid interfacial area, which is determined by the gas hold-up and the Sauter mean bubble diameter, determines the production rate in many industrial processes.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Interfacial strength in fibre reinforced thermoplastics

open access: yes, 2010
There has been a rapid growth in the development and application of fibre-reinforced thermoplastic polymer composites in recent years. Parallel to this growth has been the increasing recognition of the need to better understand and measure the micro ...

Two phase flow including interfacial area as a variable [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Based on the procedure of (Gray & Hassanizadeh 1998) we state macroscale conservation equations for multi phase flow in porous media including interfacial area as a variable.

X-ray Microtomography Determination of Air−Water Interfacial Area−Water Saturation Relationships in Sandy Porous Media

open access: yes, 2016
In this work, total smooth air–water interfacial areas were measured for a series of nine natural and model sandy porous media as a function of water saturation using synchrotron X-ray microtomography.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Formulation of one-dimensional interfacial area transport equation in subcooled boiling flow

open access: yes, 2003
In relation to the formulation of one-dimensional interfacial area transport equation in a subcooled boiling flow, the bubble-layer thickness model was introduced to avoid many covariances in crosssectional averaged interfacial area transport equation in

Aquaporin‐3 and aquaporin‐5 impact the development of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma spheroids

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of aquaporin‐3 (AQP3) and aquaporin‐5 (AQP5) in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Both proteins are upregulated in PDAC and are associated with tumor progression and metastatic potential. Silencing AQP3 or AQP5 in PDAC spheroids results in decreased diameter, area, and overall growth, underscoring their key ...

Determination and quantitative representation of three-level dispersion system in asphalt mixture interface area

open access: yesMaterials & Design
To establish a theoretical foundation for the quantitative design of asphalt mixtures based on mastic theory, this study investigates the interfacial zone of OGFC-13 asphalt mixtures. A three-dimensional digital twin model of the interfacial zone in OGFC-
