Interfacial Microstructure of Chromium Oxide Coatings

Advanced Engineering Materials, 2007
Chromium oxide coatings are chemically inert, have high mechanical strength, hardness and good optical characteristics; therefore, they have been widely used in many applications including corrosion protection, wear resistance, electronics, and optics.

Interfacial microstructure in Si-on-sapphire heterostructure

Journal of Crystal Growth, 1999
Abstract A combination of experimental techniques: high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HXRD), high-resolution cross-sectional electron microscopy (HREM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) were employed to elucidate the interfacial microstructure in Si-on-sapphire system.

Interfacial microstructures and kinetics of Au/SnAgCu

Thin Solid Films, 2006
The gold/lead-free solder system, or Au/SnAgCu is a potential flip chip interconnect solutions for fine-pitch applications. This paper studies the interfacial microstructures and initial isothermal solid–liquid interdiffusion kinetics during the first 3 s of bonding at 230–290 -C.

Interfacial Strain-Field in Thin-Film Microstructures

MRS Proceedings, 1997
ABSTRACTWe present x-ray diffraction analysis of interfacial strain fields in crystalline semiconductor microstructures. In particular we report the observations of diffuse interference fringes, asymmetric grating diffraction patterns, and asymmetric crystal-truncation-rod profiles due to the straw-varying regions in a microstructure.

Interfacial Transitions and Microstructure Evolution of Materials

2023
In this thesis, a thermodynamically consistent phase field formulation was developed to identify the physical origin of interfacial transitions that drive macroscopic phenomena, start- ing at the single-particle length scale and building up to the polycrystalline length scale.

Interfacial microstructure of anodic-bonded Al/glass

Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2002
The interfacial microstructure of anodic-bonded Al/glass was investigated to obtain a better understanding of the bonding process. The experimental results demonstrate that a sodium-depleted region existed in the glass adjacent to the aluminum. Aluminum diffused into the glass for about 500 nm when the Al/glass was anodic-bonded at 250 °C, 700 V and ...
